    Discovery I or II

If you aren't going to do big miles then you might want to consider a D2 V8. They use more fuel but are a lot cheaper to buy in the first place so depending how long you want to keep it and mileage etc, worth doing some sums.

    Anyone follow BCCC

it's a ford v6, the 24v cosworth they fittted to scorpios i think. definitely a ford v6. It's got a fairly minimal exhaust, that exits at waist height. Engine is rear mounted. he did work to it before this season, lightened flywheel, new higher revving ecu, individual inlets per cylinder...

    Anyone follow BCCC

Just came across this and a few others on youtube. He's local to me and a good friend of my neighbour who works on the car with him, I've heard it run in his workshop and it sounds great. Wouldn't mind having a go at that type of off roading but alas no budget, etc etc. Might see if I can get...

    landy garage in herts/beds

Mister 4x4 on the Hitchin to Codicote road was recommended to me (haven't used him myself though). As the name implies he does a lot of 4x4's, charges £45/hr labour. Or Woodside Landrover in Maulden (nr Ampthill/Shefford). Again recommended but haven't used

What have you done to your Landie today.

Checked tyre pressures, a little bit of air needed in all. Spare was only at 6psi so need to keep an eye on that and OSF down about 8psi so need to kepp an eye on that too. To be fair I haven't checked the spare ever so it could have been flat for 6momths !

Dropped it at the local independant for pre mot check and once over. Brakes binding, front suspension bottom bushes, drag link and handbrake need doing. Going to try MOT without doing bottom bushes to save on cash and do next month...fingers crossed Could have been worse I suppose.

    2000 Discovery GS 4.0 V8

That's exactly what i drive and it's great. Not particualry economical but you would have worked that out already, expect anywhere from 16-21mpg. 2000 model means cheaper road tax too. GS means you've likely got aircon, sunroofs and air suspension on the back but no leather seats or premium...
