anyone know how to blow up a landy???

shurely a gearbox swap would be easier? just a case of unbolting things rather than changing fuel lines and electrics.

anyone know how to blow up a landy???

Ah the arrival of a small child usually does bring everything to a complete halt for a few months!! what you need is a local landy doctor, unfortunately NHS ones are really hard to come by these days so it's likely you'll need to go private. Every area will have a landy expert who can...

anyone know how to blow up a landy???

landy's will self-destruct if any of the following events occur: you purchase a landy. your given a landy as a gift from a "friend". you acquire a landy by any other means. no explosives required. the destructive force each landy produces as it "blows up" varies immensely, some will...

    Starter, solenoid, battery???

i'd go and buy a nice new battery, your old one may show 12-13V (mine does as well) but its got no juice to whirl the starter motor. After a good charge and kept warm its good to go. you'd probably be as well looking at the starter motor as well as brnocz says. I'm adding that to my list...

    Starter, solenoid, battery???

morning! my 68 series does exactly the same! i've cleaned all the contacts, replaced the starter solenoid (it died half way through the repair work) and charged the battery lots. I've put it down to the battery loosing charge, it's got a reasonably new battery (maybe 3years old) but it has a...

    Clutch

i've had the little catch that prevents accidental engaging of reverse gear jam before, that prevented me getting reverse gear but didnt involve any grinding noises. its an easy check though; if you look at the slots where the gear stick selects the gear (you'll need the transmission tunnel...

weird things spotted in scrap heaps

this is a bit crap without pictures but anyway, while perusing a vast expanse of agri scrap yard today i came across a 109 series 2a with an old non-standard diesel engine, nothing very exciting but.... in the cab there was a 4th lever down beside the transfer box ones that conected directly...

    Ignition timing - your view's

Evening all, just the other day i set the static timing on my long suffering series 2a, it was backfiring and not idling very well before deciding not to ever start again so i thought it needed some tlc. Now, i was planning to set the dinamic timing once the beast fired up but with the...

my long time series 3 project has this as well, i thought it was just more noticable as it's had no front end for the last 2 years and i'm always working in front of it in my shed! i have stripped and overhauled the front axle and it definatly didnt look bent!! but i might have failed to...
