I rubbed mine down, went over it with a tonne of panel wipes and thinners, then two coats with a foam roller.
very pleased with end result!
get a nice good quality paint brush for tricky areas around vents etc
from what I remember it's 240 ohm arm hanging down (empty) and about 30 ohm with arm up (full) I usually ground out the sender wire (0 ohm) to check gauge is fully working too
leading shoe should have less pad at the top towards front of landy

he lent me some wheels
took all 5 tyres off, shot blasted them, got them powder coated and baked, tyres back on, balanced and fitted for me.
£45 a wheel
the side windows are an absolute God send at junctions, especially ones you have to pull into the middle of.. it saves me having to approach every junction at a right angle.
I would go with side windows every time now.
