    Diff Lock Q.

Thanks for your reply, car is a 1998 V8 D1, so should definitely have difflock. You did answer my question though, I was checking that the knob should move to the left when in either H or L, not just in N (it doesn't move to the left, at all). I'll follow the good advice given in earlier...

    Diff Lock Q.

 I can't get the diff lock knob to move to the left, BUT this isn't another of those threads! My question is, what position should the high/low knob be in in order to move it across to the left? I've been searching the threads and someone mentioned it being like a conventional H type...

    Headlights Going off/on while driving...

Same here on a 98 V8 Discovery, switch was fooked, not putting dash lights on and one headlamp was on dim/dip when the other was on main dipped beam, wiggled the switch around a bit and all was well. Bought a new switch and all is well again, was going to buy second hand but what's the point...

Lights And Colours (of body work)

Don't why I didn't look earlier mate, took me 2 secs to find it as I'd posted on the thread.......... Here you go: http://www.landyzone.co.uk/lz/f8/rear-lights-38310.html It was really easy to do, the only bit that took any time was getting the lights out of the body to clean them...

Lights And Colours (of body work)

Hi mate, do a search for rear lights, you'll find a very useful thread where you'll find that there is a simple way to connect the rear lights up in the body lamp assembly, it took me about an hour to do, am just off out but will try and find it later for you if you don't find it first. Result...

3.9 V8 Plug and lead recommendations please

Hi all, have got a 3.9 V8 Discovery 1998, I want to change the plugs and leads for new ones (and the rotor arm and cap). Thought the best thing to do would be to ask for recommendations before I threw ££££'s at my local LR Dealer!!!! So ................ Anyone please?

    Rear Lights

Jon, that is indeed very helpful, I was just checking I'd understood your definition of extending wires. That'll be me out there with the soldering iron first thing in the morning! Next is to swap the reverse light and indicator position. Many thanks for taking the trouble...

    Facelifting my Discovery...... Help please

Yes I would also assume the main beam to be on a relay, however as I was putting bulbs in that draw nearly twice the power  I thought it best to use the normal main beam feed just as a trigger to the relay and let the new heavy wiring (directly from the battery) feed the bulbs, tell you one...

Yes mate, 10 minute job, it was the wiring and cleaning that made it take all day!

    Facelifting my Discovery...... Help please

Well mate, as far as I am aware they are TD5 lights, from the 1999 model on, until they did the newest of the lights with the circular lamps and clear covers on, think mine are just the facelift of the facelift, before the final facelift if you get me?

    Facelifting my Discovery...... Help please

:D Thank you! The new lamps cost £75 for the pair, but have seen them a bit cheaper on ebay, I didn't want to buy them off there in case they didn't fit! Place I got mine said he'd give me a credit for them if they didn't fit. Land Rover Dealer wanted £90 odd + VAT , so he's still got them!

    Facelifting my Discovery...... Help please

Getting there slowly but surely, many thanks for the replies so far. It definitely IMHO looks better with the later lights on: Before: After: It would have been a 10 minute job to change the lights, except I took it apart and gave it a good clean, then re wired the headlamps to include...
