Looks like a good job but are you sure it's all safe? Whilst you have obviously gone to a lot of work and thought in this and the preparation of a guide, what are your thoughts in the event of an accident. Not wishing to be picky but the seat mountings are welded into a 300 for a reason...

The 3 wires should be in a triangular connector. One of the pin surrounds will look slightly different to the others. Looks like Rave CD says it's the black wire. If you struggle later, I could take some photo's of how I wired mine in.

Whats happening with my rear electric windows?

A search might have brought this up! http://www.landyzone.co.uk/lz/f38/discovery-range-rover-rear-windows-46097.html The link isn't working at the moment but Simon72 explains it pretty well.

STC1435 Steering Column Lock and Ignition Switch Assembly - from MA081992 (except Japan) STC1746 Ignition Switch only - from MA081992 Looks like Paddocks have made a muck up on the pricing. Switch only (with the multiplug, etc) £40, full ignition barrel with the switch £30. If only they...

Window switches are DPDT type so reverse the polarity depending which way you press em. Still need 4 though so any set up would be bulky. Easiest way would be to buy seats with switches or get switches of fleabay. If they come with the seat loom, it's an easy job to wire into the power supply to...

    Cat Questions?

It could possibly pass on an emissions test when running LPG but it was built with a cat and therefore must have one for MOT. Depends how friendly you are with the tester! As this is a 'dual fuel' vehicle, it will need to have a cat to remain within the law if it's to be driven on the road...

I'm no expert in electrics so if someone has done it, then it must be possible. Mirror switches would actually make a very neat unit. Probably neater than the bulky standard ones anyway. The added bonus is that you can stop accidental seat movement by just flicking the switch to the middle...

    Electric seats

I can see the theory of using the mirror switches. You'd only need 1 switch per seat if wired up correctly which could be complicated but then again, so would 4 rocker switches. My other concern would be if the switches are man enough for the job. The seats normally run off a 30amp fuse whereas...

The switches you need are called DPDT ('parently). You could get them here. Maplin > Rocker Switches There's a bit about how to wire them up in this one. Basic Electricity Tutorial - Switches (look for the bit about Double Pole Double Throw switches) So maybe you could get away with just...

Does it look owt like the attached? If so, it would seem that the pins work as follows: 1&2 - back/forward 3&4 - rear seat height, up/down 5&6 - recline up/down 7&8 - front seat height, up/down 9 - not used So in answer to your original problem with your mates uncomfy seats Applying...

Here's the link 7-Zip In terms of the wiring, I soldered mine into the power supply for the rear windows in the centre console. As previously stated, I doubt it's correct but it all seems to work without getting hot or blowing fuses. The classic seats (from an late 80's rangey) came with...

You can download a program that allows you to open the ISO files without burning to disc. I think it's called 7zip. I'll see if I can find a link.

Redhand, if you check the Rave CD for Electrical troubleshooting on the Range Rover, there is a series of tests that can be done for fault finding. This shows the seat multiplug which may be the same as that for Disco seats. Worth a look?

    Electric seats

Depends on what you have checked so far. Could be the switch, a fuse, a relay, connection, motor, cable or even a break in the wire. Check out the Rave CD for more info If the seats are similar to Rangy Classic ones, they will have one earth connection and 2 positives. I positive is for...

    Electric seats

For others that may like to know, Range rover classic electric seats fit pretty easily into a 300Tdi Disco! I may not have wired them up in the proper way but they're working and the wires aren't getting hot. It's a bit fiddly to make the runners fit up to the Disco seat cradle but other...
