I had same problem trying to open Rave, I had to de-install the current version of acrobat completely then it works fine. To read .pdf files use web browser.

I think you will find that the earth wire to the cluster that goes out is broken or corroded. What is happening is the power is going to earth via the other bulbs in the cluster, but when you turn the lights on you are losing the path because you have added the lighting power.
