thats right CRUDE Oil does need to be seprated through distillation but i believe that she filled the car with petrol and one seprated they dont just mix straight back i sugest you get i nice clear glass and try an experment you might learn something bit of both fuels and may be some avaition...

brim it to the top with (diesel) and keep toping it up believe petrol lighter then diesel so diesel should drop to the bottom where pump should take fuel from
