    Series rear tub

Smart thinking, can't believe I didn't think of that myself! (sorry to sound stupid, but what does OEM actually mean?)

    Series rear tub

Pricey!! When fitting them, is it acceptable to just pop rivet them all round (including to the base of the tub) rather than the faff and expense of spot welding for the sake of four spots? Just a right hassle finding someone competent enough to weld ally, that isn't a thieving b*stard!!! Can't...

    Series 3, 2.25 petrol alternator

12.5v with engine off, 13v on tickover, 13.5v at mid revs

    Series rear tub

Evening all. Just a quick one, is it possible to buy the rear panels off the tub, where the number plate and rear body mountings are? Mine have corroded along the bottom lip (oh and they're bent to Buggery!) or would it just be easier to get some sheet aluminium cut and folded?

    Series 3, 2.25 petrol alternator

The battery is reading good with the tester, but with the engine running, it's only reading low, unless I give it some juice, and then it picks up, but surely it should be charging at a consistent rate, regardless of the engine revs

    Series 3 windscreen wash

Halfords pump fitted, lines cleared, all working hunky dory... Turns out the halfords pump was identical to the original BL pump

    Series 3, 2.25 petrol alternator

Not to my memory, do you know the size of the wires from the alternator? The ones on (I think) are 17amp, and would that make a difference?

    Series 3, 2.25 petrol alternator

I've tried it to both the battery positive and top pin on the solenoid terminal (right next to the terminal where the battery positive lead attaches) but neither makes a difference

    Series 3, 2.25 petrol alternator

Well I've followed the diagram as posted by oxides, and I've still no charge, any clues?

    Series 3, 2.25 petrol alternator

The new one only cost me 30 notes from me local landy shop, plus it's got a 2yr warranty and I didn't have 2 wait for it being sent off

    Series 3, 2.25 petrol alternator

Got the new alternator, but in true landy fashion, the wiring is buggered... I traced the wires, and found one wire running through the bulkhead, which I'm presuming is the warning light on the dash, the other two, with the larger spade connectors were simply twisted together and wrapped in duct...

    Series 3 windscreen wash

Evening all, does anyone know of an alternative to the standard washer pump on the series 3? My pump works, but doesn't actually pull any water through, are they all as poor as this? Or could it just be that mines past it's best? I've tried taking mine to bits, and it seems airtight, which I...

    Series 3, 2.25 petrol alternator

Hi all, I think my alternator is kaput on my 74 series 3 2.25 petrol, it doesn't seem to want to charge battery, so rather than umm-ing and ah-ring, I'm just gonna put a new 1 on, am I right in thinking that a Lucas one with the part no. RTC5084N will suffice?
