    What is this........?

Mine is an 03 Premium. At some stage they integrated the sub amp into the main one as all there is the boot locker is a dual voicecoil speaker in an extended case and no amp. Details in the Rave manuals are extremely limited.

    What is this........?

You have a Harmon Kardon system and it is the power amp. If you have the 6 CD changer then this is normally fitted under the drivers side!

    EGR Valve?

Loss of power after sustained load/high speed recovered by reducing revs/load sounds a bit like fuel starvation!:frown:

Replacing AUX port in Centre Console

Without experience of this specific installation I couldn't be certain but it looks about the size of a standard 3.5mm jack socket. Try a car radio fitters and see if they could replace the socket. It wouldn't look the same but should still be neat.

This is getting silly but.... The last thing you want as the output of an amplifier is any level of DC, wobbly or otherwise. This would produce a continuous current flow through the speaker even when there is no sound which 1st would generate more heat and 2nd bias the coil in one direction...

Coolant Level Sensor - what to fit?

The one I saw was two coils, one below the level one at the min level point. The lower was fed an fixed AC signal the other into an op amp to give an output. When both below water level the receiver would pick up the wave from transmitter but when the level fell the signal would drop. I...

My first Freelander ...should i do it..?

The fact is you pay a small premium for a Land Rover of any model and all of us here would probably say its worth it. Don't be put off by the slagging given to Freelanders by some of the others, they think that if it hasn't got extra gear levers it can't be a real Land Rover. Also remember that...

    bass driver specs

Pedants aside it is more likely that the original fitment would be 4ohm rather than 8. This particularly true as it is for a car so the voltage rails are restricted. Even in domestic units 4 is not unusual unless you have high end equipment. Also remember that low frequencies are non...

    Tuning project back on

I must admit that I was leaning towards the Synergy 2 as the backup seems to be very good on RoverRons site and he is recommending the black EGR bypass from Dave Lyon. Just seems odd that others are charging over £400 for essentially the same a his unit.

Coolant Level Sensor - what to fit?

There are a number of water sensor circuits on the web if you are into a little bit of electronics including one that works outside a plastic container.

    Tuning project back on

Finally got the OK from the insurance company to modify my 2003 Td4 so I am resurecting the project. Bit puzzled about the both the EGR bypass and the Tuning box. There appears to be two EGR bypass modules on e-bay, one black laquered and one stainless steel and both slagging each other off...

    TD4 Crankcase Filter

Seem to remember the old BL/Austin A series engine oil filler cap had stuff like a metal pan scourer (not the wire wool) which did basically the same thing. As the fumes passed through the cap the oil collected on the metal coils and dripped back onto the rockers. Standard check when buying...

Max Load in back of freelander?

I would also up the tyre pressure a bit as it is for a specific journey, about 5psi should be enough. Don't forget to drop it after. It reduces the tendancy for the sidewalls to get hot.

    Disabling my Landy

As has been said fuses are easy to replace/bypass especially if its a diesel. Battery isolator is good provided the back of it is enclosed and difficult to get to. I have even seen one with a padlock hasp covering the isolator as the key is fairly common. All you can hope to do is make it...
