    Autobox troubles :(

No its the old box that went bang, I've read up and rang round and it seems that doing an oil change can dislodge the crap in the box. Which then gets in the seals, pump and governor. Rather than messing around with it, may as well just change it.

    Autobox troubles :(

Well glad I secured another box and converter, put it in reverse and it went bang. It still has a little drive but at around 2mph no matter how much you rev it, it just shudders. I'm so hoping that is the gear-box or torque converter. DAM YOU CAR!!!!!

    Autobox troubles :(

I checked it whilst cold and running, changing into every gear and back to neutral as it says in the rave. I think that it something to do with the torque converter, as I've done a 15mile round trip in 3rd and no problems. Just a little slow changing up and down, but smooth changing too. As soon...

    Autobox troubles :(

I've changed the auto-box oil a couple of weekends ago. Today went down the road first thing this morning it seemed to be stuck in first, then lost all drive. So I stuck it in neutral and back to drive and off it went again. Then about 10 miles into the journey when I got up the torque converter...

Well I've had two Disco's on LPG the first a manual and this one a auto. I got around 11mpg around town and about 20mpg on a good run. Now I have the auto I was getting about 10 round town and 18mpg on a run. Now I have got new spark-plugs set to the right gap, leads, lambda sensors and cleaned...

    V8 Rad

£200 seems a really good price. I paid £180 to have mine re-coned and that was cheapest I could find round here. I was quoted £300+ for a new one for mine.

    Still overheating, what next?

Try taking the viscous fan off, mine would overheat with it fitted. Don't know why but when I got up to temp it would carry on and get hot, I found out it was that after running around all winter with no fan fitted then fitted it and it got hot. A lot of people don't even fit them during summer...

    Lpg

Sounds like the MAF sensor to me. I had the same problem with mine then it went to a misfire, then wouldn't run with it plugged in. The LPG doesn't need the same bob on mixture as petrol.

Hi Mike where about's are you? Maybe you can find someone local, I'm in stoke and used to doing one off fabrications. I would recommend Iannotts from what I've seen of his bits and bobs and what older posts say.

Where I live there is a local coal yard that sells co2 for £20 deposit on the bottle and I think £10 each time you swap it or it might be £20 can't remember the exact price but sure there'll be someone locally to yourself too. try the mig welding forum they have a list.

Arc Welder - What do ya think

Metal inert gas (MIG) welding or metal active gas (MAG) both the same machine just different ways of saying it. If you want to weld alloys you use AC and argon on the machine and DC for steels with CO2 or such like.
