    3 Month S3 Rebuild

ahh, well I intend to get it mechanically sound, so that it will last a gd long time before being stripped down again. The chassis is fine, so shouldn't be any problems with that (touch wood!) Just wondering how long it will take to get the rear tub off? Main tasks really are; remove seatbox...

    3 Month S3 Rebuild

Hi, Just been searching Landy stuff online. Found some people talking about rebuilding a LR S3. They all think that it will take much longer than 3 Months. I was planning to change the bulkhead on my S3, as well as painting the complete chassis, and possible fitting a new Autosparks loom. My...

    Wiring Loom help

Hi, I worked out the cost of making a whole S3 wiring loom, and that was about £70. However the best place I found that I could get the whole loom for was Autosparks; AUTO SPARKS (P.S damn the S2 is cheaper than my S3 one!) Hope this helps

    Antifreeze

actually, 50/50 is probably best. So that makes; 4.05:4.05ltrs Ill do that in the morning.
  14. BIOSBILL

    Antifreeze

Mad Hat said 8.1 Ltrs in total. And the LR workshop manual states that 2:1 should be ok, so the ratio 2.7:5.40 should be right. The LR workshop manual states, add 4.5ltrs of water, then "add solution" (whatever that is) then top up with water to 12mm from the filler cap.
  15. BIOSBILL

    Antifreeze

Right have finally sorted it. Im going to use 2.7 Antifreeze, and 5.40ltrs of water, then topped up with water to 12mm under the Rad filler.

    Antifreeze

Can I flush out the system using the garden hose through the rad? What position is the heater valve open in?, ive never really used the heater, and the labeling has worn off the cab slider, so I dont know whats hot and whats cold! (not much difference in an S3 i wouldnt think--useless in both...

    Antifreeze

So the Radiator Capacity is the amount that I need? Dont want to overfill it or something! Thanks, Ill go and start now.
  18. BIOSBILL

    Antifreeze

OK Thanks, What is the coolant capacity though? The haynes manual states that the radiator cap is 10ltrs. But then says that you should fill the system with 2.27 ltrs of water then the equivilant of antifreeze. But just under 5ltrs doesnt sound enough for a radiator that big!

    Antifreeze

Cant make any sense of the haynes manual, of how to change the antifreeze in my S3 2.25 Petrol. Im going to use a 50/50 mix, how much should I put in? Whats the best way to drain it? Should I flush it, and how? Thanks, biosbill
