    L322 recall A28 - anyone?

It's listed as A023-392165. Here is the brief: It is possible that on a limited number of Discovery 3, Range Rover and Range Rover Sport automatic vehicles, the parking pawl guide plate within the transmission may not have been manufactured correctly. Consequently Park may not engage when the...

    td5 suspension

As said above, it's easy to do provided you have access to T4/Autologic etc... I'm always keen to fit like-for-like, but I have done a couple of conversions using the Terrafirma medium duty springs and gas dampers which I think are superb. Much better ride than the air, but you don't get the...

    Discovery parts.....DURHAM 4X4

I know Durham4x4 are also an Alive Tuning/TD5 Alive distributor like we are. Glad you found the place.

So just to clarify - You've put on a 2 inch lift kit and you are now getting drivetrain issues...:5brant:

    air filter box lid

I think there is actually an early, middle and later version. The middle one is smaller than the other two.

Have I just buggered my clutch after re-mapping my disco and driving it harder ???

A true td5 stage one remap is supposed to add around 80nm of extra torque which is around another 20%. Saying that, the TD5 clutch should be able to cope with it - it's pretty big. What's failed exactly? Stupid question I suppose as you havn't got in there yet... Most of the problems...

    kick down probs

Are you sure you are checking it using the correct procedure? The earlier ones needed the engine running to check the dip stick.

    One for you 8inaV

Hi Rob - No luck yet? The theory was that the 2 cats had broken up and had possibly clogged/blocked the pipe at the 'Y' section, where the 2 downpipes meet up. I can see the logic in this. After a reset, the engine ECU starts from default settings, so as mentioned, the car should run...

    Turbo Pressure Loss

Maybe you need to replace the wastegate control valve - PMK100130 but before you order one, check the 3 rubber pipes are ok and aren't split.

    Rangerover P38 wanted

As just mentioned - pollution reduction. The p38 V8 engine management tries to run the engine at 96C. IIRC, the RRC runs at 85ish? Not sure. The 4.4 V8 in the L322 won't run coolant through the radiator 'till 106C. It's all about emissions and saving the world from people driving...

    Rangerover P38 wanted

The stats may show this in the past, but I'd say there are more LPG'd p38's now, most of which are run on LPG at over 75% of the time. The past failings have been the hose recall which contributed to the fate of some engines. Then the radiator problem with the cores clogging up. That was a...

    Rangerover P38 wanted

That's the theory anyway with the slipped liners. As the LPG gas burns hotter, the block can't disperse the heat properly as it simply can't cope with it, and as the liners are a different metal to the block, you end up with the possibility of a liner moving under certain conditions. Mark...

    2008 freelander 2.2 diesel

Get a copy of the service check sheet from the TOPIx/GTR site. It's reasonably straight forward except for the fuel filter. The filter itself is easy to do, but you may have serious problems bleeding it of air afterwards.

    td5 chip remap

Prices differ, but Gary at Alive Tuning (Td5 Alive Ltd) charges £395 + vat for the remap. He has a few dealers around the UK working with him such as Durham 4x4 among others, so custom remaps and modification can be done on site without a trip to Alive's base in Grimsby.

    Rangerover P38 wanted

I've got a 94 build 4.6HSE which is so far averaging 60k between engines. Reading the paperwork, 2 failed due to poor maintenance from the dealership. Also the standard RV8 is an accident waiting to happen, especially on LPG. It's not perfect, but I've probably spent about 12k over the last 6...

The Big Debate - Britpart or S**tpart?

Generally, good to avoid. Saying that, some of their stuff is Genuine Part such as RV8 GEMS flywheels costing £100 less that the one at the dealer. Problem is people see the price and think 'well a filter is a filter init'. Or 'Well Paddocks are selling pads for £10 so why are yours...

    TD5 Engine Flat Spot

The EGR valve is at one end and on certain later models there is the cooler as well. You need to make sure you get the kit for the later TD5 as it differs from the earlier (and very late) Disco2 TD5 without the cooler.

    Disco2 Hardware - Bars n racks

Cheers Urban. I did have a nose around your site the other day. Some good stuff in there. It's a shame the SD racks are so rare though, and as such, the premium is high. I know FrontRunner racks and others are available, but at £900, they are still impractical in terms of price. I hope...

    Disco2 Hardware - Bars n racks

Hey Foss. I did notice your rack before when replying to the chirpy chirpy post earlier. So are they strong enough to use? Any signs of possible corrosion etc..?
