    lubricating rear door

Could be better to consider getting a small, telescopic hand grease gun (about 4 quid) and a steel conical nozzle for the end (about same price). You then don't need a grease nipple nor the large hole - a 2mm hole would be sufficient. They are quite effective.

Nuts, nuts, nuts and, eh, nuts...

If its the Landy jack, check the oil level in it as its a double extension jack and will lift ok from the deck with correct amount of oil in it.

    To Much Warm Rubber

Was in traffic jam on M11 where average speed is measured between two points. Often wondered if it measures less than 1mph cause that's about all the fook we were doing!

Vibration when taking up drive in first gear

With due respect Stownrow, that's a load of bollocks! There's obviously something wrong and it's a copout by the dealer. Hope you didn't part with any hard cash?

    Disco Rear Door lock Inverted

Hi Slob, how ya doing? Been busy as hell this end but not complaining! The soleniod kicks in ok when operating the central locking both on lock and unlock process. There must be a worn pawl in there somewhere that doesn't hold the mechanism in the correct orientation. Didn't have time to strip...

    Disco Rear Door lock Inverted

Had a go at mine today as it had similar problem on rear door. Plus, I found that locking with the key, if you tried the door handle it was locked but a second attempt unlocked the door, allowing access. Tried various things and in the end put a light spring between solenoid mechanism to hold...

    Hi all! Please help me

Looks like you can, Slob! Only fitted to diesels to quote - absorb slight hydraulic pulses caused by cyclic variations of the diesel engine crankshaft at low rpm - unquote. Fookin good fun eh?

    Hi all! Please help me

We fitted new seals to a master brake cylinder on some vehicle which I can't now remember and couldn't for the life of us get it to prime. Took it to an indie close by and he bled it in reverse direction - pumped in through the bleed nipple. Fixed it straight off and swore that it also does...

    Low Oil Pressure

What was the end float clearance like on your oil pump? Should be between .026 and .0135mm for a 200tdi. Worth checking while you've got it opened up

    steering box play

Adjust it with steering in centre (road wheels straight ahead) and then go lock to lock to check for any tightness (front end should be blocked up with wheels off the ground of course).

    Low Oil Pressure

Unfortunately, mains will require strip down front timing gear and gearbox/flywheel removal - I've never heard of replacement in situ. However, you should get an idea of wear by dropping one of the caps off and inspecting the shell. I would advise replacing big end bearings as a matter of course...

    Low Oil Pressure

Biggest cause is that crankshaft main bearings are worn - yu're basically at the point of having to drop the sump anyway so cheap will be blocked strainer and expensive will be new bearings and shells and a poss regrind of crankshaft. Good article here for you to - worth a read befroe you go...

    Low power after engine rebuild

Here's a good article from your neck of the woods on injectors and spray pattern. Berrima Diesel Service - Tuning Loss of power, yes; poor starting, yes; smoke - not mentioned but not necessarily so. Good point made was use of crappy diesel, same in my neck of the woods so I stick to...

To buy or not to buy ?

Hi Aldene - Welcome. In my humble opinion, white isn't generally a popular colour but hey, if the price is right (or, if not, use the colour as a bargaining point); you get a limited warranty thrown in and its got a good service history, why not?

    Low power after engine rebuild

Had to look up a leak down test, Slob. (No pun intended). Live and learn eh? Good one!
