True, so long as the bumper lights are working, but they're not very bright. Where we live is very remote and I'd feel much happier knowing there was a bit more light coming out the back end in case someone is coming along on auto-pilot. I suppose I could just leave the fogs on but it's a bit...

I'm assuming from your mention of plugs that it's petrol not diesel. In that case I think I'm right in saying it won't have a fuel cut-off valve. I sounds as though it can only be electrical. Have you checked inside the distributor that there are no loose wires? LT-to-coil? HT-to-coil? If...

It's certainly starting to look that way. If I can get power to it then I'm confident I can modify the light cluster so that the spare filament in the fog lights socket will operate as a rear light.

I had my old Series IIa insured with th NFU and all they wanted to know was how many seats it said it had on the V5. Ran that with a variety of cabs and backs over the years.

I think what you're referring to is called a mudshield. It fits snugly when the disc's fitted and is supposed to stop mud and other crud getting into the oil seal and bearings.

I've got a slightly tatty 1994 300tdi Discovery with a tail-light problem. The two tail lights mounted in the rear bumper are fine. The two mounted in the main lighting cluster in the rear corners aren't and don't come on with the lighting switch set to either side lights or headlights. Front...

Mine was in a v8i that was first registered to the ad company Saatchi and Saatchi in London. It sat on top of the cubby box in a square depression with little clips on the side to stop it falling off. We kept spare nappies and wet-wipes in it mostly. (For the kids!)

I had one of those come with my first Discovery. Didn't realise they were anything special. It went off to the scrappy with the car. :(
