My 2000 p38 4.6 with LPG started to make this noise a month ago, I was busy with another noise and solved it, now will be glad to hear your opinions. I guessed the cabin temperature sensor fan, but cleaning, lubing did not help. Also it sounds like coming from the left side. It starts 30 seconds...

If it comes back, I will exactly do what you suggest Dopey, or shoot it :D

I prepared hub bearings but hope won't need them, I tried different scenarios and the noise has gone..

Changed pads, caliper seals, piston pims, and more importantly, bleed the system!!!

I rebuilt the calipers with the repair set, changed pims, changed the pads while I am there and bleed the ?*!# brakes and it is not squeaking, at least for now..

I am trying to keep her on top condition because it is a daily driver and I need her. Any more ideas? Caliper piston repair kit & new pims are on the way, found a hidrolic press to take hub bearings out and will inspect them too..

Transfer box chain? If it starts to slip, it makes a machine gun noise under load.

Checked for free movement (more than once actually) but they are working as they should.. Pads are Ferodo branded and not so old, I guess they are %30 worn (%70 left in other words). What else can cause this noise other than brakes?
