Just passing my local tool shop and saw this for sale - you might be interested

As above - I was meandering through my local town of Bideford in N. Devon this morning and in the window was a Draper 114 piece sump plug repair kit priced at £45.84 reduced from something in excess of £150.00. This is the only one they have. As there are occasional questions on the Forum...

Just to advise you my friend that the pictures you refer to have not been transferred with your thread - in other words, there are no pictures.

300Tdi Oil Between Rocker Cover & Inlet Manifold

I did exactly this on my now sold 300 TDI plus I renewed the rubber hoses on the breather canister - dry as a bone.

Defender traction control from what year/model?

Standard fitment on my 2014 90 Station Wagon but I believe that the 2015 models had a switch to cancel it should you wish to do so.

    Chassis and Front bulkhead

ER1C - pending your possible reply I went on this chap's website last night only to find that it has disappeared. I know that the garage he used was rented and the landlord was ripping him off - so the last I heard was that he was looking for another premises. I'm on the case as we speak and...

    Chassis and Front bulkhead

If you were able and willing to get it to him, a chap who owns a garage here in N. Devon did exactly what you are describing on my (now sold) 1996 90 300 TDI Station Wagon. He knows Land Rovers inside out and charged me £30.00 per hour. Did a very good job too. Let me know if you want details.

    Squeaking/chirping when driving.

Probably because the drum braking surface is not truly circular - that is, it's elliptical. The drum can easily be checked to ensure it's rotating true to the shoe surfaces - get it checked by a machine shop if you don't have access to a dial test gauge and if it is only a minor defect, it can...

So, the Defender's gone away for undersealing....

ME. I got mine done at my local Land Rover dealership - they use Waxoyl and I suppose I've now opened up a discussion on what is the best solution to use, but I work for them as and when required so I got staff discount. Looks like a good job and like you I didn't want a load of mess as I'm...

Fitting side steps to a 1996 90 300 TDi Station Wagon

Thanks Al203 - a local mate of mine who would know the answer to this straight away was out hence me posting a question here for a quick reply. I've now spoken to this chap and your reply confirms what he said - plus I've done a general trawl on the net where there are fitting instructions to...

Fitting side steps to a 1996 90 300 TDi Station Wagon

I wonder if one of you gents could assist on this please. A few months ago I sold the above vehicle to a chap in Knoydart, NW Scotland - he uses it in his business which I believe is to do with hill walking. He's emailed me asking if he has to remove and then refit the fuel tank in order to...

defender dash removal - vent levers?

As bluedog333 says but much easier if the bonnet is removed first - but I'm sure you are well past that stage.

    97 300tdi defender front pipe

I don't have my 97 300 TDi station wagon anymore but when I bought it, it had a knackered cat so on advice given at the time I removed it (don't forget it will be worth a pound or two) and replaced it with the pipe you mention also from Paddocks. I had no clearance problems, just a straight...

    Exmoor Trim Carpet Sets

I'm thinking of buying the above for my 2014 2.2 TDCI 90 XS Station Wagon - not quite made my mind up yet but in their advert they have two prices. One is for vehicles with "round wheel arches" and another with vehicles with "square wheel arches". Maybe I'm being a bit thick but I really don't...

    North west defender

I think you might get zero opinions on this subject because people are wary about stating negatives in public but I've just Googled North West Defenders and there is a fair amount to read which you might find helpful - some good, some bad. I have no experience of them but I would advise that...

Defender 110 200Tdi mystery of the day

I'm not familiar in any way with the 200 TDI Defender but I would guess that the tank has a flexible breather pipe fitted on the upper face which is probably being crushed when you enter a roundabout as the vehicle body leans in sympathy to turning. If this is the case, the lift pump will be...

    Oil leak help please

I had exactly the same on my 300 TDi - I replaced the rocker and manifold gaskets and cured it.

    300 tdi leak identification..

As James says it's probably both - the exhaust manifold gasket will probably have cracked/split at No's 1 and 4 ports. Don't go mad when you tighten down the rocker box bolts - just a nip and I'm sure someone on here will come back with the torque tightening figure.

    Bulkhead vent seals

I replaced these seals on my 300 TDI (now sold) and initially I thought how good the adhesive was on removing the paper backing strip - but I soon realised that additional adhesive is required because after a short period of use the original stickiness disappears and the seal no longer stays in...

Almost too embarrassed to talk about my transmission

Well it's true because what is happening defies logic and I'm feeling like a total novice on this one but this is what happens. My Defender 90 is a 2014 2.2 tdci XS Station Wagon purchased in February with 12500 miles on the clock - currently 14000 miles and was bought as an Approved Vehicle...
