My 98 tdi does the same thing and I have tried turning the ignition on and off but it still does it. I now drop the pannel under the steering wheel and pull a fuse out which stops it and I still have the indicators but if I put the fuse back in straight away the hazards start again so I leave it...

Buy both then keep the ones you prefere and give me the others:D

Hi Iv'e had that problem in the past due to local driving get it on the motorway build up the speed over a couple of miles nice and steady and give it a good run. Worked every time for me so just before the mot I hit the motorway ...Tony

Put some instant gasket on both sides of gasket fasten it up and bobs your uncle. I made a p gasket out of a cereal box (shreddies cos I don't like corn flakes) instant gasket on both sides sorted, that was about 4 years ago I sold it 2 years ago and its still on shreddies for brecki....Tony
