    Got a leak

Leak is likely to be o rings as post above or gearbox output shaft seal/transfer box input seal (two seals the same, one fitted in gearbox, one in transfer box, both operating on sleeve on gearbox output shaft). After removing transfer box a few times to change output shaft seals and sleeve I...

    Road trip planned

+1 on making detour to Picos de Europa, some spectacular scenery. Well worth parking up sometimes and taking a walk, e.g. Up cable car at Fuente de then walk back down track. After Pyrenees routes back through France are many and varied, none should disappoint.

    Lane in Nottinghamshire

can anyone help me with a lane/track in the area of Eastwood in Nottinghamshire. I will be at a family "do" in Eastwood and have a six year old and a five year old who want a ride in my Defender. Time will only allow a hour or so with them so I just want a few puddles and a few bumps to keep...

Defender td5 manual gearbox won't select any gears

Hope I haven't misled you, I was thinking of the lt77 switch, your 02 td5 will have an r380 gearbox so does not have the same. However as above it will be connected to something you have done while changing switch.

Defender td5 manual gearbox won't select any gears

At a guess you have screwed the switch too far in! Unscrew it a few turns at a time until it works as it should

110 bulkhead removal - what's the next step?

The windscreen to bulkhead is a foam strip which sits on the flat with spikes sticking up so don't worry about the metal above it. Also you can get the steering column out without removing the ignition switch, with a bit of wriggling and a little bending around the hole in the bulkhead it will...

110 bulkhead removal - what's the next step?

As I wrote, unless Land Rover had a brainstorm, M5 is not a preferred size. Looks like you have got to the end of my knowledge.

110 bulkhead removal - what's the next step?

Unless Land Rover had a brainstorm they will all be standard metric thread. M6, M8, and M10 will probably do them all.

110 bulkhead removal - what's the next step?

Agree with you on changing outriggers with bulkhead in position. To be honest can't remember on loom, but with everything else removed it should be obvious, also as I wrote take note of and label cables for reconnection.

110 bulkhead removal - what's the next step?

Ease the roof up and remove the windscreen Take out the transmission tunnel cover and floor panels Remove the front wings Measure the door aperture top and bottom both sides so the new bulkhead goes back in the same position disconnect brake and clutch hydraulics and remove master cylinders...

    Towing advice (Caravan)........

As others have written, from a power point of view you should have no problem towing without any tweaking, but if you want to go ahead. You should also think about stopping the caravan, you are trying to brake an extra 1500kg or so. So make sure your brakes are in good condition, and also the...

    Defender cherry picker. Help needed.

Start from pump then, main feed from pump will probably go to a filter unit then a relief valve and on to diverter where it will split to either boom controls or ground controls.

    Defender cherry picker. Help needed.

I should try online to see if you can get a priestman hydraulic circuit, if you can get hold of one I may be able to make some suggestions.

    Defender cherry picker. Help needed.

Don't know who manufactured your cherry picker, but have had look in a versalift manual online and there is a selector valve which send fluid to either ground controls or boom controls. Daft question, but have you changed selector valve to ground position. Sensibly there should be one of these...

    Defender cherry picker. Help needed.

Don't know much about cherry pickers in particular, but I assume the boom, stabilisers etc are all hydraulically operated from a pump on the pto. Given that boom etc works ok then the problem will be in the stabiliser circuit. Control will be by a bank of spool valves with a lever and spring...

Smoke from indicator switch / not working

I always thought there was 3 phase electricity, making hot, making light, and spinning round. Obviously some making hot has leaked into the making light, and is warming the switch so it smokes. Or does this only work with ac

    Does our 110 have ABS?

The abs unit is right in the back corner just under the bonnet. Also when you switch on ignition abs light should come on, then go off as you reach a few mph

90 upper link ball joint gaiter

I know it's a bodge, but it got through the mot, and now job can be done at leisure when the time is right.
