    Bulkhead TLC Thread

Hello All, my first two posts on this website were both questions - hopefully my third will be more contributory than the previous, although there will definitely be questions along the way! We've recently purchased a 2A, and what started life as a 'rolling resto' has inevitably turned into...

Series 2 Truck Cab Rear Window Fit?

Thanks for your help guys - I've got the parts catalogue for series 2/2A bonneted control, but can't see it anywhere in there. I'll take a look at the smithies website If it's the same as the side windows on the station wagon, that works - and suggests that both windows on the truck cab move...

Series 2 Truck Cab Rear Window Fit?

How odd - I've put a link at the bottom now. Thanks. I'll take a look at Craddocks for the channel - that sounds like what I need. The frame is in tact - I found an aluminium spacer between the channel and the frame (similar to what's on the windows) which I guess just makes sure everything...

Series 2 Truck Cab Rear Window Fit?

Hello all, See attached for the current state of window channels/fixings from the rear window of the 2A truck cab I'm working on. Not a lot to go on(!) so I wonder if anyone can tell (or show) me the parts that should have been there?! From what I can make out, it was 2 channel sections (one...

    Steve's unexpected Series 3 rebuild.

Steve - out of interest where did you get the 'W' section for the rear edge of the tub floor? Will need to get some for mine in the near future. B

    Series 2 Speedo rebuild kit

Hello all - spent this afternoon cleaning up the Speedo from our 2A and I'm looking for the various rubber bits that have inevitably perished. I've got some o-ring cord, but things like the rubber grommets around the warning light tubes and the rubber gasket in the back of the housing are not...

    Series 2 Dreaded numbers game

I'm fairly happy it's a 2a bulkhead and chassis - see attached some pictures which may or may not prove me wrong! It's also got a mesh grill, deep sills, non-flush door hinges... I'm heading towards thinking it's a '69 with a later diesel fitted - it must have been one of the last with the...

    Series 2 Dreaded numbers game

Thanks for the quick replys - that Calvin website was where I started; very useful. Good idea to go straight to Gaydon - my only worry is that the VIN isn't actually from that vehicle, but I guess I'll cover that when I get to it. If the 10J is a metric/5 bearing engine, I guess that means the...

    Series 2 Dreaded numbers game

More thoughts - the front springs are correct for a diesel, so either someone observant changed those at the same time, or the VIN is correct for the period but not from this vehicle - or the VIN isn't engine specific....?

    Series 2 Dreaded numbers game

Hello All, 1st time poster, medium time lurker - very recently acquired a series 2A 88" Diesel - a reasonable project but hopefully lots of little jobs instead of one big one! Step one... working out what I've actually got... and immediately I need some help! Probably the first post of many I...
