I did close the valve at the bottom right up if that is what you mean? Didnt see any other adjustments possible?

Yes just double checked!!! I can pull the centre column up by hand although it does sound as if it is running through oil........ pumping does nothing at all.

Have topped up the oil but to no avail, it looks virtually new so I am guessing it needs air bleeding out of it, any ideas?

We had a new clutch put in and it's still heavy and quite dead (not much feel) It's just the way they are it seems. In fact I have built the clutch pedal up by around 15mm so it's easier to press down!

We paid£3000 for but its not the purchase price it's what you need to spend to get it right!!! we spent £1600 on a new clutch/flywheel/propshafts!!! It's now going really well and tows the horse trailer plus big horse with ease.....Depends what you want it for...........

Sounds like the gearbox input shaft spigot bush £2.50 for the part, loads for the labour and you may as well put a new clutch in etc and thecost goes up. I had a similar issue, ended up costing £1600...........with some other work as well

Why do you want to add bits that can go wrong? I have a base model 2000x and like it that way, no sunroofs to leak, no aircon to go wrong, although it does have cruise control which I mainly use to stick within the many 40 mph limits we have around our way............

get an optimate 4 and connect charging leads to the battery with a plug. I have done this on our discovery, and its very easy to keep the battery fully topped up ready for any cold weather.

I dont have enough experience of our Discovery yet to help you, but we did have a similar problem on one of our MX5's which turned out to be a broken battery cable connector not making proper contact. Electronics can be very sensitive to this type of thing so its worth checking the basics...
