Interested to know why you say a 2" lift is no use Spud? Is it because they were br1t-sh1t-parts or something else?

Just realised the nice knobbly tyres (can't remember the obscure make) fitted are too small on the OD Thus making the gearing lower- that wont help the mpg... The previous owner (a tight Welsh tw@t) fitted 235/75 x 15's- he said they were cheaper - I assumed he had compensated for the...

Today- I got a new horn... the old pair didn't work, removed & tested first thing this morning & both dead... Down to halfrauds at 09:55 & a new pair fer £20 (TWENTY QUID...) more toys to go on next week- been spending at Craddocks :-)

So what mpg are you getting from your 19J? I did a run up the A1 the other day, steady 60 on GPS. Came back on A roads & through Leeds city centre (lots of traffic lights), round trip 130 miles. Topped the tank again to check mpg & :eek: 21mpg..... I thought it would've been better than...

Fitted new glow plugs today during lunch break, 15 minutes... I expected at least 1 to pick up on the threads but no probs:-) New heater unit arrived in the post whilst I was out, a job for the w/e :-)

I think std tyres for a defender are 235/85x16's Which is tyre width in mm/ ratio of sidewall % & rim diameter in inches. But I've seen a different size rating which I don't understand in the mag ads ie 31x10.5x15 How does this system work?

Only had her since Christmas but the last 2 days without her have been soooo bad. She developed an electrical problem on Tuesday night. She was running fine, until I turned the engine off to remove the keys to unlock the rear door & then she wouldn't crank over. Red batt light but no glow...

Specially if they still have a set of keys............ (I know- I'm a cynic...)but on the bright side everything turns out good...
