Does it cut out when you are giving it some welly? Try just pootling around at very little turbo boost- I bet it runs ok. I had this with my 2.5TD a while back. Would cut out when at high revs & refuse to start for nearly an hour. Thought it was temp dependent... Turned out to be the boost...

Thats the one, left hand side glass intact on the bench seat. Then just reach in & open the rear door from the inside... Window glass now re-fitted & new ignition barrel. Removed the steering wheel last night & installed a "baby monitor". Was listening to it all night while trying to sleep...

Some low life scum bag broke into my Landy last night.:mad: Fortunately they failed to start her. Just waiting for the BiB to arrive, but first look see. They've broken the rear quarter window to gain access. Smashed the ignition barrel to try & start it. not sure if they've cut any wires...

Sorry, no quick answer for you. But very interested as mine does exactly the same on my 1987, 19J... I just got another temp sender to swap & see if its a dodgy unit? Anyone else had the same experience & cured it?

1988 '90 is now me daily driver Wife has a new Mini Cooper which I could pinch if I needed fer a long journey I also have a TVR- Glutton fer punishment before you say owt...- Actually it's quite reliable (Touch wood) or if loads to carry I'll blag the clients Vivaro.... :-)

Tracked down me elusive temp sender unit. Top of head, near side 'n' right at the back- that makes it an early engine... Tested it & wiring, wiring & guage work when earthed so just ordered a new sender.:) ps Congrats to BigP on new purchase- looking forward to your future posts:D

Tried to find the water temp sender unit on my 19J- No joy:( I know what a new one looks like... Haynes manual just says either thermostat housing or cylinder head- No piccie...:confused: Can anyone point me in the right direction for a head mounted one? So removed the drivers door...

gave mine a treat today. 30litres of normal diesel @111.9 Morrisons & then 15 litres of Morrisons own brand Sunflower oil £2.52/ 3litres (thats 84p/litre) Thats a £5 saving on straight diesel fill already. 'n she seems to like it so far... Will report back after a few days. 2 new fuel...

Just got a squeel, sounds like a belt slipping, when turning the steering wheel. Especially when there's a bit of resistance. Usually when over towards full lock. Is this the belt for the p/s pump? Just need tensioning/ or summat else? Thanks

Do all 90's have sediment filters? Was looking on ebay fer std fuel filter & came across this Land Rover Defender Diesel Fuel Sedimentor on eBay (end time 09-Feb-10 15:05:19 GMT) So I had a quick look underneath- round the fuel tank area & I can't see owt. So either only fitted to certain...
