I put the wrong fuel in my TD4

oooppps. As I'm sure you are aware, this can cause some very serious damage. Fuel pumps are usually the first to go as they need diesel for lubrication and equally petrol is a solvent. Re oil light, I can only think that petrol has found it's way to the sump. Your oil change will hopefully solve...

what mpg out of your td4?

Surely that is not town driving then ?

fuel additives, which ones are good/bad?

Not a TD4, which this thread relates too.

fuel additives, which ones are good/bad?

What vehicle are you running ?

fuel additives, which ones are good/bad?

I don't think you need to worry about this. Only too much or prolonged use of veg oil would be a possible problem. Any other mentioned additives will be fine to use. As too their effectivness I cannot say but they will only harm your pocket not the car.

    Rear light idea ?

If you are having a tow bar fitted I assume that they will be doing the socket wiring, in which case could you ask them for what you want ? Only replied out of pity ;)

fuel additives, which ones are good/bad?

Totally agree, the cetane is way higher in veg oil than any additive. I run mine on 70/30

TD4 blue/white smoke on start up

I started a thread on this also. Done it all also and just had new glow plugs and wiring checked, injectors checked.......no difference. People say, TD4's just do it and when the warmer weather comes then it will stop. I've come to the conclusion that it is simply worn cylinders/valves with less...

    Rear lights

Glad I found this. FL rear lights are neither use nor ornament in rain, especially on motorway with the spray, I get where OP got flashed. FL site mentioned does not have the images at this moment. I would love to do this mod, any more info greatly appreciated Oh, and I assume this is all MOT fine

    Car tax refund ?

Will do, I guess it could be some time for them to process and reply. I guess they must be really worried about trees, no more tax discs or reminders and refund is a tiny cheque in tiny envelope and no breakdown of their calculation.

    Fuel Burning Heater

Very interesting topic. 1st question, why does it run on for so long after switching off engine? 2nd. Why do some people talk of clouds of smoke and when they say "exhaust", I assume they mean FBH pipe at front. If front FBH vent pipe would this not be a sign of a faulty FBH ? 3rd. Which takes...

what mpg out of your td4?

Would that be a trusty BMW english engine? Maybe being on the bottom of the world the gravity is less ;)

    Car tax refund ?

Well how bizarre. Whilst looking on DVLA for contact number I noted that it says refund is calculated from date of sale, for me 25th, so that's good me thinks. Then after going through all the automated options you get to refunds and the auto voice says, " if you disagree with the amount, cash...

    Car tax refund ?

My understanding so far is that if it is a 6 month tax then you don't get that 10% surcharge back. V5c was posted 1st class on the 26th. I agree that post and processing could take it past the 1st of Feb but on V5c it has the date vehicle was sold and surely that "should" be the date they use...

    Car tax refund ?

Cheers. I always like to get as much info before so I'll have some idea if I'm getting gobblygook or fact.

    Car tax refund ?

Not sure if this is the right place. Taxed old car on 5/1/15, 6 months = £145.75 Sold car on 25/1/15, so 5 months left on tax. Got refund today, £88.33 Someone able to help me with the maths

As said above, it seems box is set to 2nd gear automaticaly in steptronic. The range between 1st and 2nd is tiny.
