    i need some advise

Absolutely. You are legally entitled to a full refund. From what you say it seems clear you are being mugged off.

2002 freelander 2.5 gas turns over but has no spark.

    Not near Newquay then ;)

    Oil in turbo pipe?

When you say lack of power? a split turbo hose would be a serious lack of power. So I'm reading that changing the hose hasn't solved the lack of power. As said, whilst you are at it change crankcase filter and turbo vent filter.

    HID units in standard headlights

What amazes me is that manafacturers or vehicle safety agencies haven't addressed this serious design fault.

2002 freelander 2.5 gas turns over but has no spark.

Sorry, you have put a 2.5 petrol engine converted to gas in the FL1 ?

    Oil in turbo pipe?

Some oil in pipe is normal but black smoke is not. Replace pipe and check smoke and performance. Black smoke could have other origins not just turbo. You don't say how many miles on car and who warranty is off. If it's a 2nd hand dealer I think you may have trouble proving your turbo is faulty...

    HID units in standard headlights

Interesting. I thought it was just me but headlights on some new cars I find blinding at particular angles.

What have you done to your Freelander today

New vcu and prop shaft bearings. Heaven. Good job I got bearings, old ones siezed on shaft.

engine will not start after removing battery

Think that's your best bet. Take your old ecu with you. All the best

    Weird starting problem TD4

If you are doing short/stop start journeys with the AC on from go then battery may not be charging enough.

    Bell engineering ????

That's fantastic, well done you. As I said, I wish your business continued success

engine will not start after removing battery

I agree, sounds like you have fried something like a sensor. Without being able to read ecu it will be a devil to trace. Don't know why your kit can't read it, maybe find a garage that can. As far as I am aware ecu and immobilizer must be synced/reprogrammed together

    Bell engineering ????

Oh dear, what a touchy bunch. I found your web page misleading. It implies you do a drive in while you wait service during business hours. If you stated the "facts" that this service is only available at evenings and weekends may help aye. You're right, this is a public forum and as such I'm...

    Spare wheel or not ?

 Never thought of that, they don't have a spare wheel
  15. C

    Bell engineering ????

Oh dear, calm down now. I didn't slag them off, I said they offer a drive in while you wait fitting service, which they don't. It's someone else 20 miles down the road who only works evening and weekends. Read posts more carefully :p

    Spare wheel or not ?

Yes, I said Tyre weld off the top of my head, it's a different one I have but been so long since I saw it I can't remember the name but it fixes and inflates. Many smaller modern cars come with these kits rather than a spare. Of course the other assumption is that everyone can change a wheel, I...

    Spare wheel or not ?

Maybe living in NZ it would or out in the wilds of UK. Anyway, us hairdressers couldn't change a spare for fear of chipping a nail :D

    Bell engineering ????

Hey Hippo, I'd heard good things of Bell on here, so I was suprised that the service they offer isn't actually done by them. Also I noted on their site they quote vcu, bearings and diff mount change as an all in service £300, but it seems that doesn't include diff mounts. I guess the title LR...

    Spare wheel or not ?

I'm getting on in years now but all I remember ever having was a slow puncture once, so I've never had to put a spare on ever.

    Spare wheel or not ?

You misread. As I said, the only down side to no spare is the ugly carrier.
