    2006 Freelander TD4 sport

Depends on what model it is regarding the spec you get and things like service history and what's been replaced. You can easily knock a £1000 off a dealer price.

Freelander 2004 td4 needs new key barrel

£550 is main dealer, new parts, silly money. You may be able to find 2nd hand cheaper but being sure ecu will work could be a nightmare. If you can get a auto locksmith to rebuild lock then that has to be your best option and they will have the gear to reprogramm if needed. As far as I know the...

    Freelander as a first car

There's no such thing as "typical" on a 12 year old vehicle and a FL1 isn't cheap when things go wrong. If you don't do diy then you may need a LR specialist for some repairs. Insurance will be as high as the cost of the car. 38mpg is on a steady run, round town will be more like 22mpg. My...

Somethings leaking on my 2004 TD4

That is the maf sensor and the pipe is from the turbo. By the looks of them they need replacing. When was car last serviced?

    intermittent EM light

Intermittent faults are a nightmare. Code readers will only pick up a fault when the fault is occuring. A cheap code reader will only read basic codes. Code readers only find certain faults, not all. Is this linked to weather ? as said, it could be water ingress. Maybe disconnect maf sensor to...

    nearside rear indicator.

Blowing fuse = short circuit. Given the oddness of it I suspect tow electrics

Dealer breaks window, your thoughts please

+1 As said, whoever pushed the door out is equally to blame for bad workmanship.

    vedgey gaylander

Nothing has changed. svo is only good at the 25% mix and only in warmer weather.

    central locking

Ah but they only click on unlocking, they do actually lock which made me question if they are faulty. You are right, the only way to be sure is to get a meter on the wiring

    Should Be Buy A Freelander?

I don't know how some people quote mpg way higher than even LR claim, which is, as with all cars, a gross exaggeration. Tell us your secret;)

    central locking

Sorry, I meant bcu or some may call it ccu. Not sure what year yours is but they are usually behind fuse box inside.

    Should Be Buy A Freelander?

NO FL is going to do 45mpg remapped or not and especially not an auto.
  13. C

    central locking

I'm not sure about that ? For all door latches to fail is unlikely. It's more likely to be the btu that controls everything or a fault in the fob circuit.

    Harmon kardon

That's the harmon kardon brains, water is not good in there.

    cleaning injectors

+1 Whilst it will clean them better, they will need re calibrating.

    Ice/Snow Freelander Advice

Don't understand the reluctance to use HDC, you can switch it off and on when needed. Surely it is a must that VCU has to be working properly in OP's situation. Auto can be driven as manual. NO 4x4 will perform with guaranteed predictability and many people have become seriously unstuck by...

    Coolant leak from cap

Word of caution. If you plan on keeping FL then a cheapy ebay one can be a false economy.

Single Clunk / Thud when accelerating in low gears

I'm assuming you mean it has been a 2W drive then for the past 6 years. Removing the prop isn't without it's risks to the ird and other issues, so can't be ruled out at all.

    new vcu -amazing

Put new vcu and prop bearings on and the difference is amazing. The difference is most noteable as I have an auto and the box changes so much better, especially slowing down/lower speed. My advice, if in doubt, change them :D
