I know the wheels can still spin it was a slight incline grassy muddy field nothing major pulling out a Nissan Note so only a light car. The light was up on dash but whilst trying to pull him only front wheels were spinning back weren't turning at all

Yes I did select low range diff lock first. But there is a rattling noise as well when driving coming from that direction

my 300tdi does not have diff lock at the mo found out the hard way trying to pull someone out a field and got stuck myself. only front wheels were spininning is this a common problem. does it mean new transfer box or is it a easier fix

Right finally had time to look at it today. Took off the new belt. Is the pulley meet to have lip on front and back to hold belt in place mine only has a front one and belt is sliding off the back of the pulley by 1 groove. And with belt off turned pulley by hand does 2-3 turns then gets really...

Well with my disco off the road due to no diff lock and no steering. Look what finally turned up today and I can't even use em :mad:

Standard ill keep the snorkel and steering guard. Think it needs transfer box and no power steering fubbed up. It's done 119k on a N.reg. just lost the will to live with it I miss my old disco commercial that had 230k on the clock and gave me no issue's. And just been made redundant so it's...

Could I get enough funds by breaking my disco to buy a replacement I am really getting fed up with mine now if it ain't one thing its another. My old disco never gave me no issues.

Was driving a loud bang and all of sudden no rev counter and no power steering. Got home checked and auxiliary belt snapped. Bought a new one fitted revs are back belt spins OK. But no power steering can hardly turn the wheel? When I first started the car to move it the power steering worked...

There is a out rattling/vibrating underneath when I De accelerate. Tick over its not there and cant here it when accelerating. Sounds underneath more passenger side. Hard to diagnose as it's only when in motion. Could it be transfer box?

As above after wading at weekend wend to start land and starter wouldn't spin. Pull started the landy and it seems OK now?
