turned out to be the battery, had it on the trickle charger all day, put it back in and it starts, now there is a ticking sound from the engine!!!!!!! will it ever end?

i seem to be having the exact same problem as you but with a 96 disco, when i turn the key there is a fast paces clicking sound from the passenger dash and the engine turns over but nothing, when you replaced the battery everything was fine?

thanks discomania, i am going to charge the battery up first, it might need to be replaced, not sure if it is causing the problem, when i first try and start the engine nothing happens, doesn't even turn over but if i wait a couple of seconds and try again it will turn over, talked to the rover...

was out green laning and got stuck in a field, had to get winched out, but when i was in the truck i must have armed the alarm then got out, the alarm went off so i put the key in the ignition and turned, the alarm went off, problem now is the landy won't start, when i turn the key it turns over...

i would like to change the color of the lights that light up the dash board, my question is it the two bulbs that are at the top of the illumination board and does anyone know where i can get some different colored bulbs (red) thanks

i bought a 96 disco a month ago and it has a bull bar on it and i would like to put a winch on it but i am not sure if i can mount one, can someone help me out here, i can post more pics of the bar if need be

i have a 1996 disco v8 and was wondering if i can used midgrade gas instead of premium in it without causing any kind of problems

i had the same problem, cracked hoses, the one under the tire jack was cracked so i cut off the end put it back on and it works fine
