I used duck oil but any penetration fluid should do it :)

The idea is to free off the linkage. It took me a couple of hours to do mine, I was servicing two Discos so it was spray and leave as I was doing other things but it sorted it. All done from underneath, I took a torch under at first so I could see everything. Get a mate to play with the gear...

Get underneath it with a tin of penetrating fluid and give it a good spray all around the diff lock linkage, leave it a while (go and have a cuppa :) ) and then work it from the passenger side through the open door (easier access for a bit more leverage). You may need to do this a few times but...

It's a race over sand dunes, get them on a proper expedition and we'll see :) :D

I changed the rear propshaft to a 200 Tdi propshaft, will the seal be different? I've looked on Paddocks site and they are different for the three and four bolt flange diff.

Hi I'm after the seal numbers for the rear diff and the transfer box rear output shaft - the one that comes out into the handbrake drum. It's a 300 Tdi Discovery 1997 with the R380 gearbox. Thanks

If you could borrow a bottle of Argoshield you will see a hell of a difference over co2, cleaner welds and easier to use. Doesn't some pub gas now have nitrogen in?
