New faultmate FCR for P38 any good?

Rather spend a bit more and get the full Faultmate, either the Nano or the Extreme (has its own built-in screen so you don't need a laptop) for a single vehicle.

    new owner question

Hi Sandyt Really because my partner needs much better, supportive recaro-type sports seats due to having a very severe form of destructive arthritis and long trips in the Rangie were making life really miserable for her, recovery taking several days after a long trip. The leather interior of...

    new owner question

Oiii!!!! Nowt wrong with the BMW I'll have you know!!! I'm the proud owner of an X5 as well as a P38!! I don't know any BMW owner who would want to mess up their X5 like this guy wants to mess up a P38. Sounds like he needs a Ford Escort, not a Range Rover and definitely not an X5.....

I want to buy a Range Rover

    Missing Service History -- Help

Really weird. I've had completely the opoosite approach from BMW UK with my very recent purchase of an X5 (Rangie still on the drive awaiting a decent day to wash her and get pics to advertise!!) I phoned them about the X5 I've now purchased and they were incredibly helpful, giving me every bit...

    Contemplating Buying - Advice Needed!!!

I've owned my beloved Rangie for over 5 years now and despite my relative lack of ability to do major work myself, I have learned a lot about the P38 over the years and my DIY skills certainly improved during ownership, although heavy work I can't do. The driving pleasure has been immense, the...

    2005 (55) TV Problem

Possibly its an analogue TV tuner and you are in an area where the analogue signal has been turned off?? This is increasingly a problem in cars with TVs - you can rectify it by getting a small 12v freeview digital tuner connected, which should give full access to all freeview channels. Not that...

    Replacement key reprograming....?????

So where are they then? The car keys???? :D Irish offered to help in his usual most unhelpful way :D:D but I needed a few extra adapters and hadn't actually got around to doing the activation as I've been away from home on contract, now I think I won't activate it on the old Rangie as I probably...

    Replacement key reprograming....?????

I would hope not, indeed. Whatever next. :flame:Someone will be saying they've got a keyfob off ebay reprogrammed to work on a P38 :D

    Replacement key reprograming....?????

I shudder to think which of the characters in LOTSW I would be!! :eek:The Faultmate has never yet been plugged into the Rangie as I've been working away from home and haven't managed to get the complicated malarky re registration sorted with BlackBox yet, was always waiting for something - a...

    error on heater controls

Open Book symbol generally means a problem with the blend motor/s, or a problem with the HEVAC unit itself, not the fuses. It can also pop up if the gas level in the system is low. You need the diagnostics read with Faultmate / Rovacom or similar to really know. The HEVAC head unit is expensive...

    Replacement key reprograming....?????

What a relief!!!!! Whew!!!:D:D Now back to topic: REPLACEMENT KEY FOBS FROM EBAY CANNOT AND WILL NOT EVER WORK ON A P38 FOR WHICH THEY WERE NOT ORIGINALLY MADE!!!!!! IS THAT PERFECTLY CLEAR???

    Replacement key reprograming....?????

Not this one.....:p the least chavviest X5 on the planet I think. Toureg earlier cars (read for that: affordable!!)suffer from awful reliability probs, as do the earlier XC90s and MLs. The Cayenne is terrible and the Lexus really really boring. Not much choice really, if you need the recaro type...

    B4 ebay

Hmm. So its ok for some items which are potentially for sale to be aired on this forum but not others.....seems as though its one rule for some and a totally different one for the rest, depending on the "moderators" and their personal likes and dislikes. Interesting.

p38 heater control display book fault

Sounds like the heater blend , but could also be a HEVAC head unit fault. You need to have the diagnostics done by someone with Rovercom / Faultmate or similar system really, before splashing the cash!

    Battery Drain

Do yourself a favour and buy a new RF receiver - sometimes even disconnecting the original doesn't work if stray signals are keeping the BECM awake. They cost around £100 - small change in the big scheme of P38 ownership!!
