    dodgy alternator

Just a thought....perhaps check your battery first, as these messages do have a habit of popping up when the battery is slightly below par. Any battery franchise can do a battery load check for you quickly and usually free. Even the slightest drop in charge can cause P38s to behave in a very...

Koni lower suspension bushes on p38

The yellow ones I think, but am not at home to check at present - will do next time I have an opportunity (working away ATM). They improve the handling of the Rngie no end - well worth it. What on earth have you been doing with yours though, to wear out all the bushes?? I was led to believe...

Koni lower suspension bushes on p38

Just kidding - they're on my P38, which I need to sell sometime soon!!!:D So I can sell them if you buy the car, too!!:)

Koni lower suspension bushes on p38

How about a independent workshop dealing in tuning / performance / suspension upgrades? There may be different bushes available which would work with the Konis. Or have you tracked down the Koni importers - that may be the best bet. Not likely to find a wrecked P38 with Konis on each corner...

    sunroof problem.

There have to be a few in breakers yards.....I think J the Range has a few breakers connections, in his quest for a new used engine, perhaps PM him? I was looking for some bits for my P38 a few months ago and RPi in Norwich have quite a few P38s that are being used as donors / they are...

Koni lower suspension bushes on p38

Try RPi in Norwich? They trade on ebay as Partsrange as well, I think. They supply loads of Konis so may be able to help- ask for Ian, or for the owner, Chris - they've always been helpful.

Rangie Owner - Owned for 2 weeks my thoughts

It's truly a strange world....German seats are by far the most comfortable for my partner....she drives a small Merc as her daily car which she finds reasonably comfy, and the BMW X5 Sport which has "replaced" the P38 has fantastic recaro type sports seats which are electrically infinitely...

Rangie Owner - Owned for 2 weeks my thoughts

I've got an ancient cassette tape to 3.5mm adapter which fits the ipod and works perfectly on my HK system - I bought it a few years ago, it fits other portable audio equipment as well. I tried an FM modulator, but the cassette adapter actually sounds better to me, so I tend just to use that...

Rangie Owner - Owned for 2 weeks my thoughts

I agree about the Disco - the seats were awful and the drive was too - the whole car just didn't do it for me. The Rangie has been a star over the years, even though I've spent a small fortune on sorting out all the usual gremlins and glitches. The 4.6 V8 purrs away happily and I've covered...

Rangie Owner - Owned for 2 weeks my thoughts

Funny how things are so different for different folk...the uncomfortable seats are the very reason I have had to buy a different 4x4 - my partner struggled so in the Rangie that she could hardly walk after a long journey, and was really stiff for a day or so after a long commute. I've had...

    Air Con - P38

Specialist aircon workshops and some countrywide franchises have all-in-one machines that evacuate all the remaining gas before leak testing and refilling...costs about £70. No "tins" of gas - that sounds suspiciously DIY!!! Use a specialist or a franchise outlet where someone has been trained...

    Super Unleaded Experiences?

For over 5 years now, I have avoided supermarket fuel as much as possible and run my 4.6 Vogue on BP Ultimate - result, engine at 135K runs sweet as a nut, excellent performance, no overheating etc etc. When I bought it, the dealer recommended the 97 octane premium petrol "if you can afford it"...

New faultmate FCR for P38 any good?

Thanks for the response. I happen to disagree entirely with you about "validating" your response - seems that if someone disagrees with you or points out very valid problems with your "service", that they simply become a target of abuse and mockery, and that ham-handed and rather foolish...

    I'm leaving

What a shame. any car can cost a fortune to fix if things go very wrong, Mercs are no different - we have an SLK in the family which had to have a £1300 repair after the boot seal failed, allowed water ingress and burnt the central locking / roof closure pump out nearly setting the car on...

huge electrical problems / becm ?

I'm sure Irish will sort you out with a decent BECM and your Rangie will soon be back to normal again....remember NO MORE VALETING THE BECM OR WD40 near it!!!

New faultmate FCR for P38 any good?

Thanks Rick, my laptop works just fine thanks, its the Faultmates software that doesn't run on it, I bought the Toughbook to run it on and even that was unsuccessful, so a third laptop is just not a viable alternative now that I am actually looking to sell the Rangie as my circumstances have...

New faultmate FCR for P38 any good?

My goodness, your original post has been edited to the extent that it is completely rewritten - "changed your mind" indeed. Perhaps some people saw it - basically vilifying me for daring to question anything you had decreed and attempting to call me a liar as well. I rather suspect that you...
