only half a heated screen!!! typical....

Had no end of trouble when Autoglass replaced my screen a few years back - the screens themselves proved to be defective and needed 4 yes 4, before both side were working. I've got a 99 4.6 Vogue too. There are two connectors somewhere near the middle - if you remove them and check the voltage...

Range rover TD6 SE or BMW X5 dilemma

I drove (and still own - but must sell due to company car arriving very soon) a RR P38 Vogue SE top spec in Java Black for the past 6+ years. Loved it to bits and have looked after it very well; as sound as it can be for a 12 year old car - some forum members have seen her in the metal. I...

keep getting a flat battery every week, even with new battery fitted!!

Its an extremely simple procedure which takes around 5 minutes really - buy the correct new receiver, find the old one (behind parcel shelf, rear passenger seat on the drivers side), unplug old one and remove it, plug new one in , I think it secures with one or two screws and that's it. No need...

keep getting a flat battery every week, even with new battery fitted!!

Just invest in the new RF receiver - the updated one (not from ebay - old units get flogged off in new boxes!!) Do a search on here - its been covered many many many times before......

    4.0 2001

It doesn't look quite right to me.....I've got most of the brochures etc for the Rangies of that era and something is amiss.......my '99 4.6 is a Thor, I was under the impression that all of them from 1999 onwards were Thor and not Gems.....

    Need Urgent Advice and Help

Its normal for the Access Light to flash when you start the car and the suspension levels itself out - then it stops, usually at normal ride height, starts flashing again on motorway at higher speed, suspension lowers a bit and settles then light stops flashing again, plus you can raise or lower...

    Need Urgent Advice and Help

Sounds like the air bags have failed or there is a compressor problem - is the dreaded EAS ERROR message showing on the dash when you start - and does the suspension level out after starting? Sorry to hear about the dodgy dealer - sometimes its better to pay a bit more for a decent vehicle...

Updated Sat Nav CD for a 2003 RR

Its the same disc as the BMW X5 E53 2002-2006 AFAIK - lots of sources of discs on ebay, get the CD for the Mk3 and the DVD for the Mk4 - theres a guy called Mick G who does these discs for BMW owners but also Rangies - I think the email was mickg@hotmail.com. I use the update in my BMW X5 and...

    P38 Sat Nav

The P38 satnav shares some heritage with the E53 X5 - from the period in which BMW owned Land Rover - the CD based units are Mk3 units which are simple to swop directly for Mk4 units, which are DVD based. There are loads of non-OEM maps out there, not that I'm recommending one of course, which...

    Winter Tyres

Just getting back for a sec to the original topic of WINTER TYRES, I've used Vredestein Wintrac Extremes this past winter on the X5 and they are fantastic - they convert the X5 into a "real" 4x4 (well on the roads anyway!) and are highly rated - so much so that no-one has any stock left in 17"s...

    She needs a new home.......

Finally back home after the long year working away.....the Rangie flew through her MOT on Thursday without even an advisory and I've listed her on ebay. She needs a good home where someone will provide the same level of care and attention I gave for the past 6 years!!!! Oh, and the Faultmate...

You Warned Me But I Didn't Listen

Petbe, it all depends on whether or not you want a new car really :) The problem you have described is definitely an RF receiver problem and for £150 it would be cured. Or for around £12 000 you could cure it with a 2003 4.4......the early L322s like the 2003 one you are talki ng about, are...

what engine is in my P38

Have a look under the bonnet - is there a black square cover on the top of the engine or a silver bunch-of-banana-lookalikes? The square cover is the GEMS, the bunch-of- bananas is the THOR!!! That's the easiest way to tell!!! Post up a pic if you're not sure:cool::cool:

    lumenition vs magnecor plug leads

I changed from OEM to Magnecor (blue) leads a year ago - great improvement in both power and fuel consumption. Well worth the money and allegedly one of the best ways to prepare an engine for an LPG installation. I'm really happy with mine and hopefully, once I finally get around to advertising...
