    Want a Series

Meh, forwards all the way then. Chances are I'll be slow enough to not have to worry about things being behind me... Or broken down at side of road...

    Want a Series

Sensibly original. As original looking on outside as poss and preferably not that many alterations inside. FWHs and parabolics might be as far as I'd go structurally externally. As for door mirrors, real wing mirrors are better imo, no taking eyes off road ahead...

    Want a Series

Yeah. And I've got a mate with an n/a or a TD just stood in his drive next to his forever drive-bound 109 which might be obtained for mere pennies...

    Want a Series

I'm only named on the 90. Whereas I want to be policy holder on the series... I assume it'll still be quite high, or will restricting mileage to 3k miles pa be a good idea, coz it will only get used every other weekend or so...?

    Want a Series

Sounds promising. I take it that would be a runner as well? The only problem I foresee is insuring one, especially only being 17 atm, but limited mileage and adding a parent as named driver might do something about that...

    Want a Series

Edit takes forever so I'll just add... Also would like advice on which series would be best. SWB pickup that is... Obviously pickup isn't a necessity as can be changed, but 88" is... And that I figure a budget of under 2 grand for vehicle and engine wouldn't be too bad...

    Want a Series

I currently have a 90 TD CSW, which is all very well, but not enough seems to need fiddling with on it. What I really want to do is get a series 2/2a/3 and plonk a 2.5 diesel in it and spend my time restoring it to originality (bar engine obviously). The charm of a nice looking, nicely...

    And another question...

In simple terms for an idiot and with links/pictures? I'm not especially experienced, only being 17 and this repair of the propshaft and oil leak being the first thing i've done...
  9. Green Bob

    And another question...

Doesn't much matter about leaking oil coz I thought changing it would stop it. Apparently not. It still pees out at a rate of knots. The leak is definitely from around the switch, but only occurs when engine running and oil under pressure... Do we think a rubber washer behind the provided...
  10. Green Bob

    And another question...

...how (easy is it) to change an oil prtessure switch? Is it just unscrew, screw on new? Or is it infinitely more complicated than that?
  11. Green Bob

    Propshafts...

While I've still got this thread open, anyone know how easy changing oil pressure switch is? And the thread size on wheel nuts?
  12. Green Bob

    Propshafts...

    How much for it?
  13. Green Bob

    Propshafts...

It'd go missing and be expensive...?
  14. Green Bob

    Propshafts...

T'would be good, just a bit far to the north east from cornwall is all... And I could do with it fixed asap cause it's a daily.
  15. Green Bob

    Propshafts...

Where's the fun in that? You don't get covered in oil that way...
  16. Green Bob

    Propshafts...

It'd been squealing and mekkin noise for ages. Went friday morning. Changing UJ would've saved me the flange, the oil filter, a gallon or 2 of oil and an oil pressure switch, but you know, why fix something that isn't well and truly knackered?
  17. Green Bob

    Propshafts...

    Dunno. Depends who carpmobile is...
  18. Green Bob

    Propshafts...

  19. Green Bob

    Propshafts...

Prop flange, yeah. It's got 6E23B stamped on it, if that makes any difference...
  20. Green Bob

    Propshafts...

Thanks. I'll get on it. Not that I need my front propshaft, but would be nice to have a 4wd again...
