Gas up your V8 or sell it & buy a dt5 unless you know someone that can buy a break only td5 to get all the parts to convert but break only TD5 Disco's are big money!!!!!!!

Recomend Auto Gas 2000 At Thirsk North Yorkshire I know they have costomers all over the country & sell kit's in other countrys.

I have a 1997 R,reg disco 3.9 V8 on GAS. It had developed a missfire, i have renewed the cap, rotor arm, coil, leads. The HT lead arkes across the low tention side of the coil & the leads light up like a crimbo tree.But i have tryed a few sets of leads & they are all arking out. Can any one HELP...

Take them off & put disks on & save on brake problems!

Check to see if the Fan motor spinns, if it is siezed it will go to earth as if an earth fault. Re the other light take off the Diff lock sensor wires & see if it goes out mabe link the wires together to see if it lights it up or simply select diff lock to see if any thing happends.

I seem to remember old cars/lorries having the vents similar to the new Defender. Mabe Land Rover found them in a dusty corner & the designers had to shave of a few £££££££££ as Ford had over charged for the oil burning engine & thats how it has ended up with the RETRO Vent's

I have for sale a R,reg Disco 3.9 V8i A. Gased up returns price to price of Diesel 40 MPG it has full service history. off for a the gas system check tomorow it had a new motor in late 2005 with 25,000 miles on new motor new tyres all new brakes the last owner spent 6k since renewing the motor.

Has any of you tried vegi oil £1.62 per 3L cheaper than Diesel But not too good at starting from cold. I sometimes use it on long trip's (i normally put £10 Diesel in to a full tank of oil) when i know i can return on Diesel & not have any or much left in the tank. My TD5 does 10 mph faster up...

I have spoke to the people that do my chipping & the Disco's gain 45 BHP & 50 to 60nm of torque. The Defender is 22 BHP & 42nm of torque. I can get the chipping done for £475 that is a saving of £75 so if any one fancys it done let me know.

You are correct about the Disco transfere box, but then to put an over drive on at a later date. What engine have you in your Defender. Are the axle Ratio's The same as the Disco. If different work out the best Ratio. Larger tyres will alter the gearing as most Disco's run slight smaller tyres...

Land Rover at Teeside say they are getting one this month & i have a test drive booked but they are not giving a date as yet & they are taking orders as they think they will be flying out i think i is more sales patter or their way of putting the pressure on to place an order.
