I had a custom cover made by my local tarpaulin centre (the guys who make a repair lorry curtain sides) cost around 100 quid and is pretty watertight. Would be fine for the bags I use it for clothes camping gear when I go away so far never got wet, only problem is it's not secure.

I have the same problem with my defender however I use roof bars so can fit them on the ground and lift the whole thing up. Lifting is a issue and if there are any tips would be great.

Just wanted to update this. It was the fuel sender unit. Not sure how the garage missed it for so long but drives sweet now.

I have the same issue on my 110 which had a new sender unit fitted when I bought it. Just mine runs short at 1/2 tank. Someone told me it was electrical however that didn't make sence to me so a bent float seams more likely. Guess this would mean a new sender unit again?

What engine and gearbox set up do you have?

I have had a 200tdi 300tdi and td5 and the td5 pulls much better even standard however I would suggest a remap as it makes a world of difference. The 200 was however better than my 300

I think a disco on a Ivor is slightly less or at least it feels it! You are exactly in the same situation (I do trees as well). My thoughts are the cost of a over drive is to much although the preferred route. I am hoping a disco box may pay for itself in fuel saving? But still concerned about...
