Must be the time of year for 01 TD4 fuel pumps to go. Cost £584 to have them changed a couple of weeks back :(

When the ignition is turned off after driving, there is a whirring type noise coming from the engine. Sounds like the cooling fan, but it doesn't come on in this weather. Its a 2001 TD4. Any ideas? :) Paul

The car is at the garage so cant check. So both shouldn't go at the same time?

Hi everyone, just signed up so be gentle :D. Had starting problems with a 2001 TD4, the garage told me it was the fuel pumps. Is it likely that both would go at the same time, or are they covering themselves as they are usure as to which one it would be? Is it a common problem with the TD4...
