Passing skills on is always a good plan. I might be a little blessed on the coating, brother in law has a powder coat facility at the office, but I am not entirely sure the max size it can take! Having said that the plastic coat ontop would make is super resilient :-)

Thanks Guys, I think making my own will be the way to go. I agree the current bars are not sufficient support for a full rack and would look odd. teddywood1 do you have a pic f your bespoke rack and how it's mounted to the roof? Did you have to add additional mount points to the rear?

Good point. I could look at designing my own if I am doing that, I have a handy brother-in-law that can weld.

Thanks, that's kind of what I was thinking. The mounts supplied would not without gutters, but the width with span my rails and I can fix with u bolts. :-)
