    300tdi 110 (95) stuck in High Ratio

Hi folks, My landy is stuck in high ratio, I've tried all the usual stuff (taking the carpet up and checking for crap in the linkage etc.) I've changed the oil in the gearbox/transfer box, I'm not really sure what to do next. Had a quick search but couldn't see anything that matched my...

    Which defender for mountain biking?

Ho! got a 110 CSW and use it a fair bit for cycling, you can get 3 bikes in the back without taking wheels off and you get used to the ride after a while. I sometimes get use of a tranny van, I much prefer the landy. cheers k

    Trying to change cambelt

Its a 300Tdi - does this make a difference?! Sunday's the day - if anyone has a good reason for me not to do this, now's the time to tell me!

    Trying to change cambelt

Hi folks , after plucking up the courage to do my cambelt, I'm stumped at the first hurdle. The bolt through the pulley wheel on the crankshaft will not shift. I'm giving it plenty of heat, and moving up on shift bar size. Whats the chances of me shearing the bolt? I've got a scaffoding bar...

    kenlowe fans

I got a 14" one, its hardly ever on! When it does come on,it doesn't run for very long. I did put in a new radiator at the same time, so thats prob helped the heat dissapation, but as I said, it's hardly ever on anyway and i've swapped out the thermo stat, temp sensor and gauge, have never...

    Costco Veg Oil

I did search first! I found http://www.landyzone.co.uk/lz/f16/supermarket-veg-oil-prices-53218-2.html but it didn't mention a brand (which was what I was really after..). Ody, I'll check for the calorific value, last time I looked though, I didn't see that mentioned. Will check again...

    Costco Veg Oil

Evenin! has anybody bought veg oil from costco? This might well sound like a daft question, but I'm a veggie oil virgin and want to make sure I don't put the wrong stuff in. cheers Ken

    Doctor, is this normal?!

Cheers otto, Got a trip up the A9 (thats not a double entendre either!) soon so no doubt any problems will come to light in the worst possible place! What really freaked me out was the diameter of the magnet (about the same thickness on the shaft of a straw), where as the swarf etc. was many...

    Doctor, is this normal?!

Ooooooh thats a bit steep! do I just put one in, or is it to replace the SMX-S stuff completely?

    Doctor, is this normal?!

Thats a bugger. Perhaps a trip to halfords for that "Shut the fek up Gearbox" paste will be required then.... I'll run it some more and see how bad things get. Hopefully, changing the oil to synthetic (Castrol SMX-S) will give it a hand. Any other additive I can throw in? cheers K

    Doctor, is this normal?!

Evenin! Changed the oil in the Gearbox of my 110 at the weekend, and this came out. The plug was covered in crap and looks like an exploding volcano or Denis the menace in profile.. I've no idea when the last time the oil was changed, but that doesn't look very good. Have done around 100...

    My F'in brakes

Just a quick update, managed to borrow a fluid sooker from the local garage, and it worked a treat. Full pedal now, brakes working better than they ever did before! Thanks for the help!! K

    My F'in brakes

Westy - Thanks for that, I'll give it a shot. I've got a compressor, so that should do the job nicely. Boydy - No, haven't had it moving, this feker hasn't left the garden in months! Thanks! K

    My F'in brakes

Westy - right, I'm up for that - where do I get a vacume pump or brakes from? Do they have a trade name (like eezeebleed etc?) Thanks in advance! K

    My F'in brakes

Hi Si, the master cylinder is brand new, just out the box - the fluid comes out clean, no particles or crap in it. However, I guess I can't ignore the possibility that the new one I bought was buggered... The freaky thing is. If I lock any 2 of the 3 flexis off - I get a rock solid pedal. I'm...

    My F'in brakes

Evenin folks, Having replaced the whole brake system (all pipes, master cyl, all flexis, all calipers, inc T-piece) I still can't get a pedal. All joints have been checked for air/fluid leaks) all bleed nipples have been checked, flexi's have been locked off and others bled, no air is coming...

    Bleeding master brake cylinder

Magic, thanks for that. I'll have a look for this load sensing valve, he might be the key to this. But first off, as you say, I'll crack the pipes that lead off the MBS, till they pish fluid and then get on with hunting down the valve, or if not, bleeding the brakes from the rear left. Thanks...

    Bleeding master brake cylinder

Hi, the pressure bleeder is fitted to your tyre, this pipe then goes into a single container which is filled with brake fluid. Another pipe then goes to the master brake cylinder, fluid is forced through the master cylinder, through the brake system and forces out the fluid to whichever bleed...

    Bleeding master brake cylinder

Evenin! Still not finished these fekin brakes. After replacing the master cylinder with a complete new unit, it now seems to refuse to want to bleed. Filled it up and open all the bleed nipples to let gravity do its job (with a couple of pumps of the brakes, then locked them all off apart...
