sounds like the front wheels need balancing mate. about a tenner at most tyre fitting centres. i also had the similar problem caused by a fooked propshaft uj but that was noticable at much lower speed. ie above 15mph. hope this helps.

cheers mate should have said earlier that all propshaft donuts and uj's were changed 4 weeks ago. 1 uj was completely dead and it didn't seem worth taking the prop off for that and not doing all the other associated components.

tesco's definetly having a laugh i'm 25 with 1 fault accident, 1 sp30 and only a years no claims car parked on street in moderate risk area and only quoted £530 tpft. thats bell direct part of the admiral group.

if it is the gearbox is it likely that i could repair it myself i trained as a mechanic for three years when i left school so i'm quite competent, but never stripped a gearbox. thats oldschool stuff they don't teach anymore nowadays its just replace the complete unit.
