    So glad I bought a Rangey.......NOT!!!

Sounds the likely cause. I'll find an LPG centre near me and get them to do it and the service too. Thanks

    So glad I bought a Rangey.......NOT!!!

I've just bought a 1996 P38 HSE with an LPG kit. It runs sweet on petrol but doggish on LPG. I'm new to gas - where do I start? You mention LPG service. Any ideas of cost? Any advice gratefully received

    Intermittent warnings

£2500. Has an LPG conversion and was shiny and pretty so I bought it. I s'pose I should be happy with it for that money, but I'm comparing to the DSE which was in better overall nick. I thought the LPG conversion was worth the spend, so I'll sort the niggles and learn to love it... eventually :(

    Intermittent warnings

Ta Gav. Bought this to replace my DSE, but its a dog compared to the one I had pre-crash. Was gonna aout this and repair other. Torn!

S'pose yer right. Was hoping for some inspiration and encouragement. T'was a good motor as P38's go. Fook.

    Rebuild CAT C write off

This is my 1996 P38 DSE moments after a low flying sports car came onto my side of the road and hit me at an angle with the rear o/s wheel taking the impact. Apart from the cosmetics, the suspension, axle and propshaft will need some attention. Pre-accident it was 77k miles with full LR...

    Intermittent warnings

4.6 HSE 1996. Intermittent warnings on the dash include sunroof open, traction failure, ABS fault, gearbox fault. The sunroof doesn't work, so I expect that to show, but the others are a mystery. Simply turning the ignition off and back on again clears the faults. I know P38's have a history...

Had any bad experience with Lancaster Insurance?

I think I've caught Tourettes syndrome from this experience. I have been prone to outbursts of sh*t, f**k, ar*e, w*nk, bast**ds. It has quite a pleasant feeling to let it all go.

I thought they owned it once they pay out? Isn't it normally the case that you have to buy the salvage back or take a reduced payout?

Had any bad experience with Lancaster Insurance?

Well, I bought the 4.6 HSE today and I'm regretting it already. Its not as nice as the one written off this week, although I'm probably comparing a well used car with an old boys pride and joy. Its clear to me now what a bargain I had in the DSE. The HSE seemed OK mechanically. I went...

Had any bad experience with Lancaster Insurance?

They'll change my car over on the current policy for a £15 fee, which is reasonable. Only trouble is a hefty £600 excess. Guess I'm stuck with this until the claim is sorted and/or policy comes up for renewal. I think I'm going to buy the 4.6 HSE.

Had any bad experience with Lancaster Insurance?

It was a wonderful six days, but its all over. The engineer looked at the car tody and declared it a total loss. Not even worth me buying the salvage and arranging my own repairs. Ah well, no-one was hurt, so that's a comfort. Also, the engineer was helpful, comfortably valuing the car at...

Had any bad experience with Lancaster Insurance?

Know wot u mean. Was a bit long, but I needed to get it off my chest. Half hoping they might read it themselves. Customer feedback they call it!

Had any bad experience with Lancaster Insurance?

Can't say I'm inspired or surprised. I think I'm half expecting the hassle and negotiations about a payout. However, I'll stick this out for as long as I can, especially as I'd only bought it six days earlier. I'm also collecting adverts of similar year/spec Rangies so that I can show them...

Had any bad experience with Lancaster Insurance?

Cheers, just had a look at their website, thanks to the helpful link. The company who refused were carcrashline.co.uk and I thought they might be the same people trading under different names, but it seems not. There is an option with Helphire to take out a £10 policy to cover the costs of the...

Had any bad experience with Lancaster Insurance?

Six days.. six whole days. Of all the woes I expected from owning a P.38, I couldn't have predicted this.. Clearly the former pride & joy of an old boy who has gone to a better place, I bought a pristine 1996 2.5 DSE off a funeral director with an entreprenurial streak who deals in cars of...
