Finally bought a new set of wheels/tyres! BF Goodrich Mud Terrain TA KM's 33x12.50R15 with about 15mm tread (according to the advert, photo looked like more). Paid 400 quid for a set of FIVE! So I thought that was a good deal. They're in Reading so will likely take the van up there at the...

How did you get those headlights to fit mate? Was there a bracket that you can buy so they fit in the circular hole or do they just fit straight in? Absolutely love those want them in mine or something similar

depends where you are but was also looking at 12.5" wide also. 255 appears to be 10"

Disco 1 Wide angle prop knuckles fouling

Simple answer is I bought what as advertised as a 2 inch lift kit that turned out to be a 4 inch once I fitted it, wasn't out of choice. I just took it as I saved a lot of money as 4 inch lift kits are a lot of money compared to 2. That's why it hasn't been properly researched as such. I had...

Disco 1 Wide angle prop knuckles fouling

I might do eventually, just can't justify spending that much on a propshaft! Saving up for some 33's and then I hit this obstacle it's a bit annoying!

Disco 1 Wide angle prop knuckles fouling

Yeah heard of use of a disco 2 propshaft, think you have to change the transfer box flange too. luckily I've got a D2 at the yard that's worse for wear so might take it off and have a go. As John says, not sure how long it will last as have heard that they dont but if it gets me out of trouble...

Disco 1 Wide angle prop knuckles fouling

I can't lesson the angle as the castor angle is now correct, only way would be to lower the car a bit but then castor angle changes back the other way. Double cardan is what I was thinking but they're upwards of 400 quid :/

Disco 1 Wide angle prop knuckles fouling

So after fitting my 6 degree castor corrected radius arms my wide angle propshaft is now fouling on the knuckles where it goes onto the transfer box. I have a 4 inch lift. Obviously the angle change on the axle has made the prop angle down further to a point where it's now catching as it...

Finally got all of the arms fitted, wow what a difference it makes! Steering feels much more responsive, articulation is mental, before it felt very stiff and there was a lot of creaks and groans but now it really does flex well! Feels very stable with it too. Much improves my confidence off...

Went to my local industrial supply shop, bought a lot of hi-tensile bolts and nyloc nuts. M16 (metric). Couldn't get imperial but these are just as good. Nuts were £1.60 for 10, bolts were £8.80 for 10 also and much better than the Britpart ones on Island 4x4's website (plus would have to pay...

    Discovery 300Tdi Off Roader

Well mostly productive day. Thought I would start with the trailing arms as they were easier and I didn't have a lot of time. Boy I was wrong. No fault to myself though, once they trailing arm was off the new one was on within 15 minutes. Problem was the trailing arm bolt that bolts the...

Just plodding along today doings some small bits. Fitted genuine OEM rubber bushes to the radius and trailing arms. Thought about using poly bushes but adrenaline4x4 after some discussion said OEM is just better so i thought I'd go with that! Made good use of my Dad's press to get them in...
