The 3 Amigos - Fault Code Reading

Try unplugging the sensors and giving everything a good clean. They can get filled with crap or knocked and then won't pick up on wheel rotation so giving a fault. Got to be the cheapest option to start with. If it sorts it the lights will behave properly and will reset the system (I think...

Help please! final days for my Freelander

Sorry to hear of your troubles. I'd be going down the ebay route I think. Some silly prices get paid on there, you could always then donate some of the proceeds to charity if you wanted to, once you have recouped some of your loss

    Wheel questions

2002 came with option of 15" 16" or 17". Make sure any wheels you get are from the right year - there were some changes to PCD as far as I remember. As already mentioned, make sure you have a decent matched set of tyres and all your wheel rims are he same width. Original 16s would have been...

    Towbar wiring for Freelander2

As long as it's not clipped on with Scotchlocks, but fitted properly it should (in my humble opinion anyway) be OK. Personally I'd do away with the sensors, they drive me mad and I've never reversed into anything yet in nigh on 30 years of driving all sorts of wierd & wonderful vehicles :)

    Towbar wiring for Freelander2

I know that on some vehicles the sensor cut out can be programmed in via software, rather than having to pay out for a dedicated kit, but then I guess the Main Dealers won't like this. It's worth asking around a few local places to see what they can do, if they've done one before etc.. £170...

buying a landy what would you suggest

It's not got a lot of clearence, although I know a couple of folk with them who love em... Can't see it being as good as a FL off road to be honest though - very small wheels and too low / to much stuff to snag etc. As said before if you want an all rounder, get a cheap Disco

    wheels and tyres wanted

Google "wheel couriers" or ask the nice folk on here if anyone's local and can collect, move them a bit nearer etc. Or get the seller to wrap them in bin bags and arrange it yourself through Interparcel :)

    Ignition problem

As far as I know, the fob has no bearing on the imobiliser. You can lock & unlock with the key so it shouldn't have anyway. Have you been through the re syncing the fob process. I believe it can take a few attempts to do it. Someone with more info will no doubt be along soon. EDIT On...

Buying freelander, what you think of this one?

Replacement / recon VCU is about £250 (from memory) + a deposit until you return your old one. Depends where you go but there's a couple of suppliers mentioned on here somewhere. If you do it yourself that's it, if not then there's obviously labour costs too. IRDs and diffs come in quite...

buying a landy what would you suggest

Depends what you want it to do really. Had all 3 that you mention for varying amounts of time and can honestly say I've been happy with them all

Buying freelander, what you think of this one?

No harm in having a look.... Abs light could be a sensor or an easy electrical fix. Power steering could be an easy one, but a new box isn't silly money.... Depends what you want. Factor in your repair costs and bid accordingly. Don't forget to check all the stuff they haven't mentioned...
