    Temp guage and heating wierdness

If you are fitting a new 'stat, only bother with a waxstat. I had a brand new pattern one and clearly it was not working properly and staying closed when it was supposed to. I have a digital temp gauge so I could see exactly what was going on temp wise. Fitted a waxstat and it's fine now.

DEFENDER 200TDI Time to ditch the ear muffs and hot waterbottle

Fit heated seats. You can easily retrofit them to your standard seats...Exmoor do a kit. I redid mine...(leather in the front no less!) and added seat heaters and wow they are great at this time of year. With a warm bum and back, you don't even notice the cold!

The 200tdi temperature sender threads thread

Zeaphod, I had exactly the same problem. Steve Parker sold me two bags of different adaptors, and there was one in each bag that I needed. As you can see from the pic, I have my sender unit (SPA bit still 1/8 NPT) going into an adaptor, which in turn goes into another adaptor, which goes into...

    Can anyone identify this winch?

Nice one, appreciate the advice Paul. At the moment I do very little off roading...the winch was possibly a cheap buy, hence thinking it might be good for the occasional bit of laning and my ultimate aim of an overland trip to Morocco one day. However I think when that time comes I will spend...

Thanks Paul. It's not actually mine...just interested.

Just trying to work out what this is and what it's rated at...any help appreciated! Thanks!

    Battery / Starter motor issue

I had a similar issue (amongst others), and mine was the chassis to engine/box earth strap. Corrosion under the strap where it met the chassis.

Ex mod 300tdi conversion fitting a snorkel

Yeah, it is bloody eye wateringly expensive, I'll give you that. If I was some kind of gifted welder I would have had a go a fabricating the metal pipework (I suspect that is the expensive bit TBH). My old air cleaner was such a bodge, and had caused me so many issues I just "got to that...

Ex mod 300tdi conversion fitting a snorkel

I don't think they will TBH as I think I asked something similar. The mount is the easy bit...rubber mounts, a flat plate and some really big jubilee clips would probably work. The tricky bit is the big U-bend pipe going back to the turbo...again you might be able to fabricate or bodge...

Ex mod 300tdi conversion fitting a snorkel

It's a Steve Parker kit...expensive but good. Have a look at their website...it basically bolts where the washer bottle fits. More info here. https://www.landyzone.co.uk/land-rover/200tdi-conversion-tidy-up-advice-comments-please.309701/ You definitely need to fit a filter as that is really...

Ex mod 300tdi conversion fitting a snorkel

I have a 1986 ex MOD 110, with a 200Tdi engine but with a 300Tdi airbox mounted on the NSF wing, and a pipe going over the engine to a Southdown snorkel on the OSF wing top. I think your 300 will have the airbox mounted next to the engine on the opposite side to the manifolds and turbo, so in...

    Boost alloys

OK that's pretty chunky, for some reason they look smaller. Might be the black arches and chequerplate giving an optical illusion. Anyway, still looks very nice!

    Boost alloys

Nice truck! Not sure what size the tyres are but I like slightly chunkier ones purely from an aesthetic point of view. If a little'un and the long term ambition of an overland trip had not forced me down the 110SW route I always wanted to build a NAS90 replica. Love Freestyles on those...one...

    Boost alloys

You will be fine with any LR alloys...just don't forget to buy new wheel nuts too. However if you go down the second hand route make sure they are actually Boosts as a lot of Deep Dish alloys get advertised as Boosts and IMHO are not as nice. Second hand is a good option...due to the size of...

After careful investigation, I have found out why my CSW rear door window has never worked...

It's a window lift channel, yes it had rotted (and been removed), and no, you can't get them any more (MTC8478) However I bought some front window lift channels, drilled out the spot welds, and bodged up a replica of the rear. Bottom item on my bench here is the original rear from the other...

    Water Temp Help!!

I had exactly the same issue with my 1986 ex-MOD 110, which has also been swapped to a 200Tdi. Nearly had heart failure when I drove it home after buying it (cheap) and saw the needle buried in the red, where on further investigation it was very clear it was not overheating. I tried different...
