    always use 1st gear to pull away.....easier on clutch/engine etc....then as with most engines use as higher gear as poss to save wear on the engine....but believe me in the long term......pull away in 1st

    speaking as someone whos bought/sold many a freelander.....DONT! diesels arent too bad at younger age than your seeking,,,,,,but a petrol at that age?.......i can think of MPs that are more reliable than a 10 year old freelander!

    without actually seeing the car its hard to decide if its the coupling or the ird....and to be honest im tinking more'coupling'from what you said in later texts....your ird is probably safe for now....itl no doubt be storing that prob for a later date lol..i wouldnt advise driving it as a prop...

    defender bars are only a quarter of four times the weight of the bar.....freelanders are half twice the weight....a disco averages out at around a third of three times the weight......and a range rover? who cares!

    twas only teasing.....the discos a great truck too,in many ways its better than a defender(but i wouldnt say that in here)...just look carefully before you buy,then once youve got the one you decide on then its only your imagination/pocket that limits what you want to do with it

    i wouldnt like to make a call between auto/manual....both can give probs as with any make of car...the world is full of used discoverys.....there everywhere from private sales to main dealer outlets and at the moment prices are lower than jane goody so go and veiw a few others and look them over...

    that will be the killer for TD5s.....why buy a nice shiny TD5 and pay twice the road tax,when the TDi is a better buy,doesnt depreciate as fast....is the same car but with a better engine........its a no brainer to me
