Check wheel bearing play, steering joints / bushes and steering box for excessive play and sounds daft but make sure tyre pressures are correct and that everything spins right

Over advanced timing can cause pinking same as ****e fuel, leaky air manifold inlet, incorrect plugs, and incorrect air/ fuel mixture. Check everything carefully may not just be one thing

Did trip to south of France, then back over the Pyrenees in mine with the wife and she did great on the map reading, around 1400 miles of driving and no arguments, but then we have had 17 years of no arguing! :)

3000 miles!!! ouch! what make was that one? Generally GKN parts good, if you compare the rollers from a GKN UJ to an unknown brand the GKN rollers are fatter and the whole race set up just seems better quality. Whatever you fit keep them greased! so many people moan on here about parts failing...

That included 5 brand new wheels too!

+1 Not fast but did around 500 miles off road over the Pyrenees, steep tracks, rocks, ruts mud and gravel as well as some long road stints and was amazed as it was no slower off road than any of the turbo guys :)
