Fitted new water pump and its still overheating....Looks like it might be head gasket...:doh::doh::doh::doh::doh:

Hi again, Just took bleed screw out and started it up from cold and no coolant came out so it looks like a water pump problem... Excellent advice .. Thanks again.

Hi all, I,v got an ongoing problem with my 98 TD5 Disco. Been having overheating problems with mine. Changed thermostat and now after checking radiator aint blocked i,m beginning to suspect the water pump. The top half of the engine is getting hot but the rad is stone cold. Took top and...

Just bled system but radiator is cold so its looking like a thermostat prob. great news hopefully. Thanks again.:)

Thanks very much for the info. Will go check that now. One thing i forgot to mention is that first thing in the morning the cooling system is still pressurised. Even when cold. Is this normal???. Also had water blowing out the bleed screw on the top hose when its hot and pressurised.???

Hi all, Happy new Year to you all. Got a 98(S)Reg TD5 thats overheating when i go above 60 miles per hour. Also when it starts to over heat i lose power.. Is this the head gasket going ????? I put the heater on full to get the temperature down and the power comes back Please...

Hi all, Done this and it still starts but, still not right. Still have to give it a bit of throttle. Think it maybe an injector problem so going to fit new injectors. Will keep you all informed. Sunroof still leaking. Maybe windscreen seal. Regards Nigel.

I still have a problem starting my TD5 in the mornings so here's some more details. I have to turn the engine over two or three times with the accelerator pressed before it will start. Have fitted new glow plugs but the problem is still there first thing in the morning. Starts fine after that...

Thanks for those suggestions guys. Will try all of these and keep you posted. I,ve also got a severe leak which i suspect is coming from the sunroof. I dont know if its leaking around the sunroof or the drainage ducks are blocked but am i right in assuming that the interior lining has to come out??

Hi all, Just purchased a Discovery TD5 on a 99 plate(S) and i must say after being fed on a diet of "Disco 200"s i feel very spoilt. Just a couple of little problems that i need to sort out. ONE:- Difficult to start in the morning. TWO:- Central locking does not unlock on the two rear doors...
