Hi all, Update on my TD5 problems. Spoke to a Land Rover specialist today and he tells me that the early TD5s are known for heads cracking internally... Thats why, he says, i,m getting diesel in the oil and the over heating issues. So i,m dead in the water.. £2750 i paid for this motor back in...

Gonna bite the bullet and invest in a new fuel pump... Wont be till next week though...Watch this space for the update/Cry for help...:eek::eek::confused::confused:

Hi, Me again,:rolleyes: Can you tell me if the fuel pump can fail intermittently on the TD5s please?? Beginning to think it may be a fuel pump issue...Can hear it running when purging but the other night we towed vehicle for 3 miles and it fired up twice then died as if starved of...

PASS...Sorry i was not there. Dont worry m8...I,ve given up with the motor...I,ll sell it on and let some one else sort it...I,m sure its nothing serious but i,ve just lost all faith in it...Had six Disco,s to date and this one has been the only one that's let me down... Time too move on...

The only other fault that showed up was one for the air flow meter and one for the new coolant temperature sensor that i fitted.:cool: Seals were fitted by the book...Using the special injector removal tool that cost me £130+

Dragged it for 2 miles and it fired up lovely twice but then just died...Battery is now flat with all the purging... I give up totally... Codes are as follows... BGNGA3 NO-1 INJECTOR BNFMA3 NO-2 ---"--- NGFMC4 NO-3 ---"---...

Gonna go over the garage and drag start it... I,ll let you know the progress later.:(

Right, Its been on the diagnostic pc and loads of codes came up.. The numbers off of the injectors have been re-entered and the ecu reset and still it will not start...Probably needs dragging but i cannot be assed...:confused::confused::confused::confused:

Been put back till today m8. Nothing worse than relying on some one else eh.:rolleyes:
