Well unfortunately it is not the diff - that has been changed as the pinion gears where flopping about a bit! So where do we go from here after 2 CV joints and diff changed, this is digging into my wallet!:eek: Driving her back tonight, the noise comes into play when you are travelling around...

Me not being a mechanic thought it sounded like my tyres at first but then it was too noisy and and more metallic. More likely to hear when on a motorway travelling at 60+ but getting the car back today - so will let you know if the noise has gone! Sorry I couldn't take a video with sound but...

Thanks again for all the replies. Had a heater problem last year and it was replaced with a an old unit - now works on 1 or full blast but garage stated that I had to choose between air con or heater, so obviously chose heater! And apparently they shut off air con - so can that be causing whine...

my original lights are useless on dipped but need to get them for LHD as in France - just checked out Paddocks and ones you quoted are for RHD only but they do have a set without ring for LHD. Are these any good?

Whine definitely not from me - but feel as though I am listening for all sorts of noises from under the bonnet - gives me sleepless nights!! Trouble is how to describe them am I going mad!:D

Thanks everyone for the help. Here's the two problems I have. Removal of the front prop, the ability to drive away, and a good look at the tyres indicates a siezed viscous coupling. The ability to drive and still get the noise ended up a as a dry CV joint! Lesson learnt, pack them before...
