It will definitely affect gear selection because when worn and rubbers are breaking up the whole assembly will move forwards as you press the clutch pedal and also definitely cause a vibration. Not always gear specific, but you might also be able to produce a Vibe by shifting into other lower...

Sounds to me like the DMF is starting to break up ............... Clutch and DMF Kit is needed. Bearing in mind how much work this entails I would only ever fit a LUK Kit not any other !! BTW I am an ex Transmission Firm owner, now semi retired and own a small indie Garage business ;) HTH :)
