I think they're actually called "lashing eyes" and I was aware they were NOT to be used for towing. I was also under the impression that the ones that protude through the bumbers must not be used for towing either.

Good things about Freelanders: 1. Owning one. Fantastic to drive and good handling on road and off road. 2. V6 goes like stink. 3. Best looking 4x4 by far.

Good idea Outlander. Get an inspection carried out on the vehicle. From memory I think they're aorund £250 but this is a small price to pay if the vehicle doesn't need any work. If it does at least you know you weren't ripped off.

Ebay is a goldmine for Freelander parts. I got a few parts myself from Ebay. Side steps, load cover and parts for the new motor. You carry on looking Mondo. You will never shake the lable "Ebay Search Engine" though ;)

I agree too. Brake lines should not need replacing on a 5 year old car (Yeah, 5 years old Mondo, not 6 ;) ) Sounds like they're changing lots in the hope to stop the scraping noise. Not fare on you really. Get a second opinion, that's the safest bet. I wish you luck in getting this sorted.

I shall be bringing the child bride and me Mondeo TDCi. Now I don't pay for fuel I can travel any where in the universe, especially as the Mondeo has had the inter-galactic jump jet conversion :D Might bring some pims too ;)
