Just had a quick look on the internet for a price. 1998 2 litre diesel fuel pump is £80 plus VAT. http://www.land-rover-parts-shop.com/ Take a look for yourself. However, price for a fuel pump on a 1998 1.8 litre petrol Freelander is £200 plus VAT. OUCH !!!

Was it a diesel Freelander? I know some diesel fuel pumps on other manufacturers vehicles can be pricy. £274 does seem a little expensive though.

I can't see how 1 cubic centimer would cause problems. The description would worry me. Saying that, the colour on my V5 was questionable. Said Silver, it was more a champagne colour. As long as the engine and chassis numbers match I'd be happy......I think ;)

Could be as smiple as a loose connection under the gearstick housing. They come loose sometimes.
